George Mason Bio

George Mason (sometimes called George Mason IV) (December 11, 1725 - October 7, 1792) was a Virginia planter, politician and delegate to the American Constitutional Convention of 1787, one of three men who refused to sign. His writings, including substantial portions of the Fairfax Resolutions of 1774, the Virginia Declaration of Rights of 1776 and his Objections to this Constitution of Government (1787) in opposition to ratification of the Constitution, exerted a significant influence on political thought and events. The Virginia Declaration of Rights served as the basis for the U.S. Bill of Rights, of which he has been considered the father. Mason was born in 1725, most likely in present-day Fairfax County, Virginia. Mason's father died when he was young, and his mother managed the family estate until he reached adulthood. He married in 1750, built Gunston Hall and led the life of a squire, overseeing his lands, family and slaves. Mason briefly sat in the House of Burgesses and became involved in community affairs, sometimes alongside his neighbor, George Washington. As tensions between Britain and the American colonies worsened, Mason came to support the colonial side and put his knowledge and experience to work for the revolutionary cause, finding ways around the Stamp Act of 1765 and participating in the rebellious Virginia conventions of 1775 and 1776. Mason drafted the first version of the Bill of Rights in 1776, and his words formed a large part of the text adopted by the final Virginia Convention. He also drafted a constitution for the state; others who sought to have their ideas adopted by the convention, such as Thomas Jefferson, found that Mason's version could not be stopped. During the war, he was a member of the powerful lower house of the Virginia General Assembly, the House of Delegates, but, much to the irritation of Washington and others, he refused to sit in the Continental Congress in Philadelphia, citing health reasons and family obligations. Appointed one of his state's delegates to the Constitutional Convention, Mason traveled to Philadelphia, his only long trip outside Virginia. Many clauses of the document bear his imprint, as he actively participated in the convention for months before deciding he could not sign it. In his objections, he mainly cited the lack of a bill of rights, but he also wanted an immediate end to the slave trade, to which he was opposed, and an absolute majority for the navigation laws, which could force tobacco exporters to use more expensive American ships. Although he lost on this occasion, and again at the Virginia Ratifying Convention in 1788, his fight for a Bill of Rights led fellow Virginian James Madison to introduce one at the First Congress in 1789, which was ratified in 1791, a year before Mason's death. Long in the shadows, Mason is now recognized for his contribution to the United States and to Virginia.

Moon in Aquarius

Sun in Sagittarius

Asc in Virgo

Sun in Sagittarius

For you, more than for anyone else, the Sun's return to the sign of Sagittarius signifies a fresh start. You will be able to concentrate, rejuvenate, and reconnect with the authentic self if you take full advantage of this opportunity. The hallmarks of the postmodern era are a renewed sense of vitality, confidence, and the desire to seize new opportunities. You might have greater drive, enthusiasm, and visibility to engage in activities you like. This influence brings out your innate desire to discover the truth, have fun, and learn new things. You are strongly encouraged to take ownership of your story and tell it to others during this time. The questions that concern your identity, direction, and personal development encourage you to reflect on who you are becoming and where you plan to go in life. If you can articulate your ideas, take initiative, or simply act in a way that is consistent with your identity, you might feel more confident. It is crucial to remember that your enthusiasm is infectious, but you must exercise caution to prevent going beyond what is considered appropriate behavior. You are more motivated than normal when the Sun is in your sign, but you run the risk of becoming impatient or overextending yourself. You will be able to use your energy more effectively if you can strike a balance between freedom and concentration.

Moon in Aquarius

Sagittarius, a sign that thrives on freedom, adventure, and thinking about the big picture, receives an additional layer of emotional knowledge that is creative, unorthodox, and concerned with social awareness while the Moon is in Aquarius. This is because the Moon is in Aquarius to supply Sagittarius with this additional layer. There is a possibility that you are presently experiencing a desire to investigate your feelings from a viewpoint that is more scholarly and devoid of any emotional attachment. It is possible that you are looking for clarity rather than emotional intensity, which is a change from the optimistic and adventurous attitude that you often have. Through the formation of new friendships, the adoption of new ways of thinking, and the participation in activities that are based on the community, this transit encourages you to think about new ways to develop as a person. At the moment, the Moon is in the sign of Aquarius, and it is instructing those born under the sign of Sagittarius to find a middle ground between emotional understanding and autonomy. This will make it possible for ideas to arise without placing an undue amount of stress on the results of the endeavor. A sense of fulfillment can be achieved through a variety of activities, including but not limited to networking, participating in important conversations, and making contributions to causes that are greater than oneself.

Mercury in Sagittarius

Couple your free-spirited, optimistic Sagittarius sun with the open-minded Mercury in Sagittarius and you possess an indefatigable mind with a truly insatiable desire for self-betterment. You are so full of confidence and insight that you do not accept even a slightly reason to feel insecure or doubt yourself. This double-barrel fire placement makes you one of the most highly driven, action-oriented people in the zodiac. You don’t think, you feel and act on your thoughts with an iron hand — a blessing and a curse. You’re inquisitive and have a deep emotional well, yet you are fiercely loyal and protective of those you hold dear, not holding back if need be to protect the ones closest to your heart.
But this vast energy also presents a problem. The double Sagittarius can cause you to be dramatic as hell and defensive as fuck, because you’re likely keeping your heart locked up tight so that no one gets a look at how tender your inner world really is. You may feel a need for emotional tolerance, since you can't handle the in depth of your emotions. The world can be a lot, and you might find yourself in need of burnout to protect your powerful internal landscape.
The key to true peace is honoring the energy behind your feelings. By finding safe, nourishing ways to express the fire that you feel — whether through art or a creative pursuit, or in the form of a deeply trusting relationship with an other and affiliation in relation to love — you learn how to traverse those deep waters without drowning.

Venus in Aquarius

With the free-spirited, adventurous Sagittarius sun finding its heart inside the futuristic, cerebral domain of Venus in Aquarius, you may be someone who loves with a mix of wanderlust and emotional disengagement. Your physical self is looking for truth and freedom in all things, but your relationships…not so much.. they are founded on intellectual freedom and innovative ideas.
It is a dynamic that makes for a lovely tension, and one we find pretty mesmerizing. Your Sagittarius sun desires to be roaming free, growing and learning without fear. But your Venus in Aquarius is tugging you towards a universe of friendship-built connections, joint ideals, and anything-but-vanilla love. That is the reality that allows you to gaze at all other worlds, because your love can be both progressive and accepting, which also means never possessive. The true magic of this combination is that you will be able to love humanity, not just a single individual. Your Aquarius heart puts your Sagittarius’ high-energy passion to work for humanity, turning you into a champion of the underdog and bringing in an infinite level of understanding as a partner without being too much (or even any) emotionally suffocating. You're attracted to relationships that seems advanced, based on agreement about issues and also intellectual kinship, and you love only in an environment of shared freedom and respect.

Mars in Leo

Your actions are a unique mix of boundless adventure and dramatic self-expression as the free-roaming hopeful Sagittarius sun meets its match in the proud creative Mars in Leo. Externally, you want truth and freedom to be a part of your life as far as the eye can see, but at an internal level when it comes to motivating forces in your life you want reaction forming admiration through romance with a bold, brash style in pursuit of goals.
It’s a beautiful, intriguing pull. Your Sagittarius sun craves to but not necessarily anyway, learn and grow with a bold abandon. But your Mars in Leo is pushing you toward a world of dramatic performance, brave behavior and never-ending efforts to be the star doing something other people only hope to do. This makes you capable not only of knowing the emotional depths of human love, but also expressing your energy in ways that are dependable and fiercely protective as well as deeply devoted.
The real power behind this connection resides in your drive to follow your gut and get things done with a dogged determination. Your Leo power adds a deep sense of purpose and passion to your Sag’s boundless enthusiasm. You’re attracted to relationships that are expansive and hopeful, founded on shared spiritual principles and a fierce devotion. Your vibration does well in the presence of mutual respect and excitement.

Jupiter in Pisces

When the adventurous, open-minded Sagittarius sun meets its lucky expansiveness match in Jupiter through Pisces, the ethereal, empathetic realm of your star chart, your moves are an epic combo of limitless exploration and resolute enlightenment. Your External Personality desires Truth and Freedom in all things, but your internal motivations, be they fantasy or a desire for empathy, are strongly motivated towards the broad spiritual range of expansion.
It is powerful and compelling to draw on that, where it becomes a beautiful tension. Your Sagittarius sun craves the freedom to move and learn and grow with wild, fearless abandon. But your Jupiter in Pisces tugs you toward a world of deep passion, transformative goals and an endless desire to know the deepest truth about whatever. This enables you not only to sense the depths of emotional human connection, but also to channel your energetic output with excessive reliability, defenseiveness and dedication.
The magic of this combination is that you truly know how to trust your intuition and get things done with a soft determination. Your Pisces drive infuses your Sagittarius’s boundless enthusiasm with a deep sense of mission and a grounded base. You’re attracted to relationships that feel expansive and hopeful, based on shared spiritual beliefs and a fierce commitment. Your energy does so well in that atmosphere of mutual respect and continuing discovery.

Saturn in Capricorn

A person with their sun in Sagittarius and a Saturn in Capricorn is this wandering philosopher who needs to become, grudgingly, a corporate leader. Your truest instincts are to search for truth and freedom, to go into the world and share your wisdom with a light touch. But the great life lesson of your life is about building a successful and structured life through hard work and discipline, delivered by Saturn. This pairing makes for an intriguing tug of war between your love of adventure and quest for the truth.
Your Sagittarius sun’s desire is to be the truth-seeker, the one who emerges victorious from adventurous ideas and open-ended exploration. But, your Saturn in Capricorn wants to school you in that deep wisdom requires nothing less than a conscious commitment to go deep with the invisible truths of your relations. It makes you tell the truth no matter how awkward, and it makes you set clear boundaries so that you can give to others without losing yourself. The trick is figuring out how to be a curious adventurer and, also, a stalwart advocate for justice.
This placement's power is harnessing your unrefined intellect and making it into a tangible, visible good. You can be a voice powerful, a public leader in creating harmony within your own social circles and beyond. It is you job to use your insatiable appetite for knowledge to create relationships and communities that are built on respect and a mutual sense of trust. You are a capable navigatrix through complicated emotional terrain, who is also able to plant your feet in the sand about what feels right for you.

Uranus in Scorpio

A person with their Sagittarius sun rulled by a Uranus in Scorpio is a wandering philosopher who has a chance to become a visionary detective. Your deepest instincts and desires see you exploring the world feeling light enough to attack it and to share your insights. But your life’s grand wake-up, Uranus, has some news for you. You are meant to be a detective in your relationships, to use the wit and the mind, usually aimed at exploring the wide and the infinite, to create balance and structure in your personal life and for the people you love. This placement says about you a lot. It intertwines your strive for the objective and your objective for exploration into a temperament that always pushes and pulls, stretching you in both ways. You want Sagittarius; your sun sign wants the best to be the truth seeker, the doer of the right that is anchored in the boldness of ideas and the open field of unknown. Your Uranus in Scorpio has a rule to play, as well. It arrives to tell you that truth is not something you only learn but something you push for, that knowledge is a discovery of darkness up-until a point when you know what is right and push for it no matter how uncomfortable it makes you feel. This is a dual directive, a Sagittarian push for broad ideas and a Scorpio strategy of detection, a divided message where you love to give and get but never at a cost of the other party. Where does it lead you, though? The answer is simple and, at the exact same time, difficult: your task is to make all of that expansive mentality as objective.

Neptune in Gemini

You are an adventurous storyteller who is eager to uncover new truths. You find your identity in the drive for freedom. You have a relationship with truth but you are not a philosopher; you are tightly tied to the struggle for truth and the good. Neptune in Gemini call for a new interconnected reality; the urge for intellectual, social vision. And with this placement, you are destined for a struggle between the two; expansion versus revolution, explorative desires versus subconsciously-driven pulls. You are an inspired wordsmith, not just a philosopher. Your offer is to bring your artistic potential to the forefront of your creative expression. The question is: What artistic potential do you base your story on? How do you unify the enthusiasm of your carrier with the necessity of expressing your complex ideas as an author? How do you fulfill your potential to generate the kind of idealism that would inspire you? The question of your way is how to fulfill your drive in a way that allows you to manifest the world you want. You are not a philosopher; you are a creator of idealism. When you learn to create your vision, you will inspire everyone around you to do the same.

Pluto in Libra

In your 11th house, Sagittarius — the house of friendships, communities and long-term dreams — you have Pluto in Libra. It changes the way you relate to other people and the kind of future you are building for yourself.
It’s a cycle when friendships themselves can feel intense or fated. Some connections vanish out of your life in an instant while others can transform into a wellspring of your growth. You might see power struggles or unspoken expectations in groups you belong to. These are the kinds of experiences that lead you to ask yourself who really stands behind, for or with you, and if the people in your circle truly embody your beliefs.
Your dreams and aspirations can change, too. Pluto in here tends to strip away the superficial and asks: What kind of a future actually empowers you? You may outgrow past visions, or see that some of your hopes were more attached to pleasing others than following your truth.
For Sagittarius, this energy is encouraging you to balance freedom and connection. You flourish in freedom, but Pluto in Libra reveals to you the power of community and partnership for just as much transformation — provided it’s real.
By the time Pluto is done with this lesson, your friendships and long-term vision will be refreshed entirely. You will take with you relationships that are deeper, more empowering and aligned to your true path and outdate bonds (along with goals) will slip away. What is left will feel like soul-level support and purpose.
