Tom Kite Bio

Thomas Oliver Kite, Jr. (born December 9, 1949) is an American professional golfer and golf course architect. He spent 175 weeks in the top 10 of the Official World Golf Ranking between 1989 and 1994. Kite was born in McKinney, Texas. He began playing golf at the age of six and won his first tournament at the age of 11. Kite received a golf scholarship to the University of Texas and was coached by Harvey Penick. He turned professional in 1972 and has been making money ever since. Known for his sense of innovation, he was the first to add a third wedge to his bag, one of the first players to use a sports psychologist and one of the first to emphasize physical fitness to improve his game. He also underwent laser eye surgery, due to his partial blindness, with the aim of improving his game at the end of his career. He won 19 events on the PGA Tour, including the 1992 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach. He was a member of seven Ryder Cup teams (1979, 1981, 1983, 1985, 1987, 1989, 1993) and was captain in 1997. Kite holds the unique record of having made the cut in the first four U.S. Opens held at Pebble Beach: 1972, 1982, 1992 and 2000. Kite also shares the distinction (with Gene Littler) of having played in the most Masters tournaments without a win. In 1989, he was named Player of the Year by the PGA of America; in 1981, he was named Player of the Year by the Golf Writers Association, won the Vardon Trophy in 1981 and 1982, received the Bob Jones Award in 1979 and was voted Rookie of the Year by Golf Digest in 1973. Kite was the first in Tour history to reach $6 million, $7 million, $8 million and $9 million in career earnings. He was the first Tour player to win money in 1981 and 1989. In his heyday, Kite had few equals with short irons. In 1993, Johnny Miller called Kite "the greatest short-iron player the game has ever known". His 16th and 17th PGA Tour victories came on Mother's Day and Father's Day in 1992. In 2005, at the age of 55, he led the PGA Tour's Booz Allen Classic by a stroke heading into the final round. Had he been able to stay in the lead, he would have broken Sam Snead's record as the PGA Tour's oldest winner by three years, but he fell behind and finished tied 13th, seven shots behind Sergio García. Kite currently plays on the 50-plus Champions Tour, where he has ten victories, including a senior major, The Countrywide Tradition. At the 2012 U.S. Senior Open, Kite shot a first-round front nine of 28 (seven under par). This is the lowest score ever recorded over nine holes in a USGA championship. He finished the tournament in joint 12th place. Kite has added golf course design to his resume and has successfully completed several golf courses in collaboration with Bob Cupp, Randy Russell and Roy Bechtol. These include Liberty National in Jersey City, New Jersey; Comanche Trace in Kerrville, Texas; Somersett Country Club in Reno, Nevada; Gaillardia Golf & Country Club in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Legends on LBJ in Kingsland, Texas. Kite was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2004.

Moon in Cancer

Sun in Sagittarius

Asc in Virgo

Sun in Sagittarius

For you, more than for anyone else, the Sun's return to the sign of Sagittarius signifies a fresh start. You will be able to concentrate, rejuvenate, and reconnect with the authentic self if you take full advantage of this opportunity. The hallmarks of the postmodern era are a renewed sense of vitality, confidence, and the desire to seize new opportunities. You might have greater drive, enthusiasm, and visibility to engage in activities you like. This influence brings out your innate desire to discover the truth, have fun, and learn new things. You are strongly encouraged to take ownership of your story and tell it to others during this time. The questions that concern your identity, direction, and personal development encourage you to reflect on who you are becoming and where you plan to go in life. If you can articulate your ideas, take initiative, or simply act in a way that is consistent with your identity, you might feel more confident. It is crucial to remember that your enthusiasm is infectious, but you must exercise caution to prevent going beyond what is considered appropriate behavior. You are more motivated than normal when the Sun is in your sign, but you run the risk of becoming impatient or overextending yourself. You will be able to use your energy more effectively if you can strike a balance between freedom and concentration.

Moon in Cancer

Because the Moon is in Cancer and you are a Sagittarius, you have a unique mix of watery desire and exciting adventure. Sagittarius is a sign that is known for its strong sense of independence, optimism, and drive to find purpose and truth. These are the traits that make you unique. Your Cancer Moon rules your inner world, which is emotionally compassionate and sensitive. It needs a strong sense of safety and belonging to work properly. This combination has the potential to create a unique internal dynamic, and it may still do so. Your Sagittarius personality makes you want to be active, travel, and try new things. You also have a strong desire to enjoy new experiences. On the other hand, your Cancer Moon wants a peaceful routine and the emotional security that comes with returning home to a place you can call your own. This is because your Cancer Moon is a sign that honors the Moon. If you have a strong desire to travel but always find yourself back in a safe and familiar setting, you may feel like you are being pulled in two different directions. That being said, this combination also gives you a lot of power. You really need the emotional depth that your Cancer Moon brings to your Sagittarius optimism. You are more than just a dreamer because you make experiences that are emotionally meaningful. You have the ability to be a teacher or mentor who is both sympathetic and motivating, and the fact that you have a unique mix of loyalty and philosophical views makes you a true friend.

Mercury in Sagittarius

Couple your free-spirited, optimistic Sagittarius sun with the open-minded Mercury in Sagittarius and you possess an indefatigable mind with a truly insatiable desire for self-betterment. You are so full of confidence and insight that you do not accept even a slightly reason to feel insecure or doubt yourself. This double-barrel fire placement makes you one of the most highly driven, action-oriented people in the zodiac. You don’t think, you feel and act on your thoughts with an iron hand — a blessing and a curse. You’re inquisitive and have a deep emotional well, yet you are fiercely loyal and protective of those you hold dear, not holding back if need be to protect the ones closest to your heart.
But this vast energy also presents a problem. The double Sagittarius can cause you to be dramatic as hell and defensive as fuck, because you’re likely keeping your heart locked up tight so that no one gets a look at how tender your inner world really is. You may feel a need for emotional tolerance, since you can't handle the in depth of your emotions. The world can be a lot, and you might find yourself in need of burnout to protect your powerful internal landscape.
The key to true peace is honoring the energy behind your feelings. By finding safe, nourishing ways to express the fire that you feel — whether through art or a creative pursuit, or in the form of a deeply trusting relationship with an other and affiliation in relation to love — you learn how to traverse those deep waters without drowning.

Venus in Aquarius

With the free-spirited, adventurous Sagittarius sun finding its heart inside the futuristic, cerebral domain of Venus in Aquarius, you may be someone who loves with a mix of wanderlust and emotional disengagement. Your physical self is looking for truth and freedom in all things, but your relationships…not so much.. they are founded on intellectual freedom and innovative ideas.
It is a dynamic that makes for a lovely tension, and one we find pretty mesmerizing. Your Sagittarius sun desires to be roaming free, growing and learning without fear. But your Venus in Aquarius is tugging you towards a universe of friendship-built connections, joint ideals, and anything-but-vanilla love. That is the reality that allows you to gaze at all other worlds, because your love can be both progressive and accepting, which also means never possessive. The true magic of this combination is that you will be able to love humanity, not just a single individual. Your Aquarius heart puts your Sagittarius’ high-energy passion to work for humanity, turning you into a champion of the underdog and bringing in an infinite level of understanding as a partner without being too much (or even any) emotionally suffocating. You're attracted to relationships that seems advanced, based on agreement about issues and also intellectual kinship, and you love only in an environment of shared freedom and respect.

Mars in Virgo

How You Can Do Your Part: As the free-wheelin’, happy-go-lucky Sagittarius sun meets disciplined Mars in service-oriented Virgo, your actions are a mix of wide open optimism and down to earth perfection. You're at your best when grappling with external reality, searching for truth and freedom in everything, but underneath you function based on a deep need for efficiency and order, an active problem-solving approach to your goals.
This tension creates a lovely, fascinating tug. The sun in your Sagittarius wants to spread out, learn and grow with reckless abandon. But then your Mars in Virgo drags you into a realm of literal perfectibility, practical aims and a relentless quest to improve everything. It means you’re able to not just experience the emotional layers of human intimacy but to invest your energy in a manner that is extremely loyal, guarded and pledged.
The real magic of this pairing is the power you hold to act on your instincts and get things moving with silent certainty. Your Virgo’s ambition provides your Sagittarius’ boundless enthusiasm with structure and direction. You’re attracted to collaborations that feel expansive and optimistic, forged out of shared spiritual commitments and a ferocious devotion. All of your energy does best in an environment of respect for all and discovery.

Jupiter in Aquarius

As the free-roaming, adventurous Sagittarius sun meets fortune and expansion in Jupiter’s humanitarian, eccentric realm of Aquarius, your actions are a perfect potpourri of infinite adventure and revolutionary ideals. Your personality's longing is for truth, freedom and all of things, but the lover in your soul is wild to break from all that binds you and suffering secretly under an insatiable love of variety which must act as a great deal for collective aspirations; with an infinite detachment.
This dynamic has a rather beautiful and interesting pull to it. Your Sagittarius sun needs to be out and about — soaking up new knowledge and experiences with the kind of freedom that knows few boundaries. But with your Jupiter in Aquarius, you are pulled toward a world of deep passion and transformative mission, always trying to get to the very very heart of everything. This also means that you get to experience human connections as deep and rewarding as your emotional prowess will allow them, and your energy directed into areas which are truly worth of this dedication and devotion.
It is your intuition and initiative that makes this combination so potent — you simply plow on quietly using your intuitive capabilities. Your Aquarius initiative puts some direction behind your Sagittarius’s limitless optimism, and an earthy base under all the hyperbole. You are attracted to relationships that are expansive and optimistic centered on shared spiritual beliefs and/or a deep commitment. Your energies soar in an environment of mutual respect and ongoing discovery.

Saturn in Virgo

What happens when your free-spirited, carefree Sagittarius sun encounters its large life lesson in the meticulous and analytical world or Saturn in Virgo? Well, your sense of adventure may have a deep sense of purpose and want to serve! The juxtaposition produces a powerful inner relationship: you, who was born to explore the world with unbridled fearlessness, are prompted to develop discipline, master your art, and discover a way to help others in a tangible sense.
Your Sagittarius sun craves motion, knowledge, dialogue of where you’ve been. But your Saturn in Virgo insists that you ground those philosophical gifts and use them to produce something lasting, practical. It's hardly just about knowledge sharing; it's about using focused insight full of understanding in order to go out and do things that are perfect, things that work.
The greatest benefit of this is that you have tremendous energy to burn off and by serving in the way described, your natural born energy will be set into action. You can be a pioneer who gets things done, an exacting teacher whose work makes the world feel safe, or an inspired guide whose methods are as brilliant as your heart is big. You realize that the secret to power is in honing your craft and being absolutely stubborn about building a vision of a world that you wish existed.
The road to internal balance that you've chosen is a matter of finding a measurable outlet for your adventurous soul through which you're treated fairly. Your reputation will confirm you capable of fusing untutored keenness with exact self-restraint.

Uranus in Cancer

A person with their Sagittarius sun and a Uranus in Cancer is a wandering philosopher who must become a nurturing theorist. Your deepest instincts are to look for the truth and your freedom, wanting to see all the fronts of the world while allowing a light touch of your wisdom. But your life’s great lesson, from Uranus, is how you can create balance, structure, and a change so profound in their relationships. The Sagittarius sun, urges you to be the truth-seeker, the pretty one who slays triumph by pursuing grand ideas and exploring the open. However, with the Uranus in Cancer, your truth is that you have to battle that hidden truth in your relationships. Uranus  in Cancer makes you have to fight for what you believe is right even if it means getting uncomfortable about it, and you also need to be able to put down clear cut boundaries so you can give others without losing yourself to them. Here you are going to find the true balance between the curious adventurer  and the advocate warrior for justice. This placement’s real power is most evident in how you can transform your raw intelligence into a structured, visible force of public good. You are united with the people by a sense of trust, your immense intellectual curiosity used to foster relationships and communities based on respect. You understand the profound emotional landscape without losing truth to your beliefs. Your destiny is to bring justice to the world in your own unique manner.

Neptune in Libra

With a Sagittarius Sun, optimism, curiosity and a lust for adventure comes with the territory. Sagittarians are inherently adventurous, philosophical and seeks to broaden their horizons by traveling, studying or personal exploration. When Neptune is in Libra, this broad energy becomes relational and idealistic. Neptune in Libra seeks compassion, harmony and a longing to connect the spiritual with a sense of justice or fairness in social and artistic endeavors.
This is a person who exhibits the combination of daring with touch and diplomacy. Whereas Sagittarius desires freedom and new experiences, Neptune in Libra encourages them to think carefully about how they approach others and relationships that offer balance. These people might be interested in a collective project, voluntary work or artistic creation that lets them combine their vision together with ethics and creativity.
At a deeper level, (Sagittarius Sun) conjoined Neptune (in Libra) may go through life seeking to balance an individual quest for expansion with a concern for equality and relationship. They are naturally inspiring individuals who can sense the nuances of social relations. When balanced, this combination creates a person who is open-minded, idealistic and socially conscious — a person who can carouse the planet as an expeditionist while promoting peace, empathy and deep connections.

Pluto in Leo

Pluto in Leo illuminates your ninth house, Sagittarius — the area of higher learning, travel, philosophy and long-term vision. For you, it’s the cosmic call to grow — and not as carefree as you’re used to. Pluto adds weight, depth and intensity to your quest for truth.
Belief systems you have long toted around may seem suddenly shallow or outdated. It could cause you to doubt your faith, your worldview or the values that once shaped your decisions. It can be destabilizing at first, but Pluto is not here to send you off empty-handed. It is here to dismantle what’s false so that you can rebuild something real and empowering.
This energy also draws you toward transformational experiences — travel that alters you on a fundamental level, studies that challenge your mind or encounters with teachers and cultures that have a karmic feel. Your natural enthusiasm is intact, but Pluto wants you to refine it with wisdom, depth and resilience.
When Pluto has moved through Leo and Sagittarius, you’re going to be viewing the world — along with yourself — completely differently. You would hold beliefs forged from truth, not magical thinking, and your voice could help awaken others to expand their consciousness as well. It’s not only wanderlust; it’s a spiritual awakening.

Sun in Sagittarius 17°20

People born under the sign of Sagittarius bear the seal of their sign's ruler, Jupiter, who symbolizes justice and happiness. They are therefore optimistic, active, social and very honest, to the point where their frankness sometimes hurts others without them realizing it. Their character is not one of scathing satire or malice, but their idea of justice implies that people deserve to know the truth.

Their reactions are immediate, and they often act on impulse, without measuring the consequences of their behavior. They can be provoked in a matter of seconds and explode, but they can forget everything just as quickly without having the slightest idea that they may have hurt someone emotionally. They didn't mean to hurt anyone, did they?

Those who get to know them better and get used to them will not only have fun, but also find reliable friends, who may sometimes talk too loudly, but can generally be trusted.

These people hate being limited in any way. They're capable of hard work, but they can't feel that it's an unavoidable duty and that someone is supervising them.

They are happy in the role of host and as such often exaggerate their possibilities. Their carelessness when they're having fun is the cause. They act the same way when someone needs help. They immediately do what's needed and don't expect gratitude or anything in return. They don't need a lot of money for themselves because they don't need to show off, and they're certainly not systematic savers.

They are able to see the bright side of life andinspire others to have a more optimistic view of the world. To others, they may seem a little shallow, but in reality they have a philosophical mindset that allows them to see narrow-mindedness from a different perspective. Their forgiveness and kindness also help them in life. They spoil this "image" by their uncompromising fight for justice, when they can't restrain themselves from adopting aggressive behavior. Those around them often fail to notice that they almost never fight for themselves.

They defend their pride even at the cost of material loss. They don 't like long explanations or humiliation, so they just slam the door and forget their rights.
