Zachary Taylor Bio

Zachary Taylor (November 24, 1784 - July 9, 1850) was the 12th President of the United States, from March 1849 until his death in July 1850. Before becoming President, Taylor was a career officer in the U.S. Army, where he attained the rank of Major General. Taylor's status as a national hero thanks to his victories in the Mexican-American War earned him election to the White House, despite his vague political convictions. His main priority as president was to preserve the Union, but he died seventeen months into his term, before he could make any progress on the status of slavery, which had inflamed tensions in Congress. Taylor was born into a prominent planter family that migrated west from Virginia to Kentucky in his youth. Taylor was commissioned an officer in the U.S. Army in 1808 and made his name as a captain in the War of 1812. He rose through the ranks, establishing military forts along the Mississippi River, and entered the Black Hawk War as a colonel in 1832. His successes in the Second Seminole War drew national attention and earned him the nickname "Old Rough and Ready". In 1845, with the annexation of Texas underway, President James K. Polk sent Taylor to the Rio Grande region in anticipation of a possible battle with Mexico over the disputed Texas-Mexico border. The Mexican-American War broke out in April 1846. In May, Taylor defeated Mexican troops commanded by General Mariano Arista at the battles of Palo Alto and Resaca de la Palma, and succeeded in driving Mexican troops out of Texas. Taylor then led his troops into Mexico, where they again defeated Mexican troops commanded by Pedro de Ampudia at the Battle of Monterrey in September. Taylor then defied orders by moving his troops further south, where, although outnumbered, he dealt a decisive blow to the Mexican forces commanded by Antonio López de Santa Anna in February 1847 at the battle of Buena Vista. After this, most of Taylor's troops were transferred to the command of Major General Winfield Scott, but Taylor's popularity remained high. The Whig party convinces a reluctant Taylor to head their ticket, despite his unclear platform and lack of interest in politics. He wins the election alongside New York politician Millard Fillmore, defeating Democratic candidates Lewis Cass and William Orlando Butler, as well as a third party led by former president Martin Van Buren and Charles Francis Adams, Sr. of the Free Soil Party. As President, Taylor kept his distance from Congress and his cabinet, even as partisan tensions threatened to split the Union. Debate over the slave status of the vast territories claimed during the war leads to threats of secession from Southerners. Although a Southerner and a slaveholder himself, Taylor did not encourage the expansion of slavery. To avoid the issue, he encouraged settlers in New Mexico and California to bypass the territorial stage and write constitutions to become states, paving the way for the Compromise of 1850. Having died suddenly of stomach disease in July 1850, Taylor had little impact on the divisions that led to the Civil War ten years later.

Moon in Taurus

Sun in Sagittarius

Asc in Capricorn

Sun in Sagittarius

For you, more than for anyone else, the Sun's return to the sign of Sagittarius signifies a fresh start. You will be able to concentrate, rejuvenate, and reconnect with the authentic self if you take full advantage of this opportunity. The hallmarks of the postmodern era are a renewed sense of vitality, confidence, and the desire to seize new opportunities. You might have greater drive, enthusiasm, and visibility to engage in activities you like. This influence brings out your innate desire to discover the truth, have fun, and learn new things. You are strongly encouraged to take ownership of your story and tell it to others during this time. The questions that concern your identity, direction, and personal development encourage you to reflect on who you are becoming and where you plan to go in life. If you can articulate your ideas, take initiative, or simply act in a way that is consistent with your identity, you might feel more confident. It is crucial to remember that your enthusiasm is infectious, but you must exercise caution to prevent going beyond what is considered appropriate behavior. You are more motivated than normal when the Sun is in your sign, but you run the risk of becoming impatient or overextending yourself. You will be able to use your energy more effectively if you can strike a balance between freedom and concentration.

Moon in Taurus

If your solar sign is Sagittarius and your moon is in the sign of Taurus, you have a wonderful blend of earthy stability and fiery adventure. This is because your sun sign is Sagittarius and your moon is in Taurus. As a Sagittarius, you have a strong feeling of independence, an optimistic outlook, and a strong drive to find meaning and the truth. These are the characteristics that define your identity. However, your emotional inner world, which is regulated by a Taurus Moon, is patient and grounded, and it has a profound respect for a home base that is both safer and more comfortable. This is because your emotional inner world is governed by the Taurus Moon. In the event that this combination is successful, it is possible that it will result in a fascinating internal dynamic. Due to the fact that you are a Sagittarius, you have a great urge to engage in physical activity, to travel, and to constantly seek out new experiences. Your Taurus Moon, on the other hand, yearns for a peaceful routine and the convenience of a house that you can truly call your own but which you can also call your own. It is possible for a person to feel as though they are being pushed in two distinct directions if they have a strong desire to travel yet constantly find themselves back in a setting that is safe and familiar.

Mercury in Scorpio

And so when the free-roaming, buoyant Sagittarius sun links minds with Mercury in Scorpio’s deep and transformative waters, you’re a seeker of truth with an unexpectedly strong and keen eye. You are a force of nature on the outside, acting confidently and without reservation, while under the surface you function in an incredibly sensitive, emotional and even manipulative way.
And that's how it works, and I think it is a really lovely synergy. Your Sagittarius sun wants to move, learn a grow with abandon. But your Mercury in Scorpio draws you to a universe of emotional investigation, power and journeying into a more substantial sense of truth. It is thus that you don't merely experience the world, but allow yourself to express with greater intention and depth. I guess you can be high-energy for one minute and grounded in power the next.
And the true power of this combo is that you can bring your heart into unison with your mind! Your Scorpio mind bring an amazing sense of purpose and vision to your Sagittarius' philosophical mind. You are not just a bold adventurer; you are strong and transformative, harnessing the ability to use your words to help others and change lives. Scorpio’s deep desire becomes your patient resolve to do what’s right, and your life is imbued with a sense of destiny.

Venus in Capricorn

As the free-spirited, expansive Sagittarius sun clashes its heart with a Venus in Capricorn space of discipline and ambition, your love looks like spiritual contentment with a practical DNA. Your persona longs to be free and truth-seeking in all things while your inner world fixed within relationships is focused on tradition, groundedness and physical safety.
This tension is what makes for a wonderful and intriguing pull. Your Sagittarius sun needs to travel, learn and expand unfettered by fear. But your Venus in Capricorn tugs you toward a realm of forever commitments, mutual achievement and a lifelong quest to construct a secure life. This makes it possible to experience something emotionally profound and deep but also the ability to express your emotions in a way that is highly secure, protective, and caring.
The magic of this combo is that you can love with both a pragmatic mind as well as an adventurous heart. Your boundless Sagittarius enthusiasm becomes committed and focused through the grounding nature of your Capricorn heart. Now, you are attracted to relationships that feel safe and secure but also has a shared drive for success in each other, and a ferocious loyalty. Your love grows in a space of respect and comfortability.

Mars in Scorpio

As the free-spirited, glass half full Sagittarius sun meets its match in the deep, intense world of Mars in Scorpio, your actions are inspired by a unique combination of adventurous freedom and a hardcore emotional drive. Externally - the truth shall set you free is your mantra - however internally, your place of power and motivation is desire...where intimacy and passion mingle in a fevered script of how just one or two kisses led to where we are. It’s a lovely and compelling pull, this dynamic. Your Sagittarius sun wants to travel to grow and learn with reckless abandon. But the thing is, your Mars in Scorpio means you're drawn to a universe of deep desire, transformational aspirations and ever-seeking the underbelly of what makes everything tick. That takes you down to literally feel the emotional depths of what human connection can bring for expressing your energy that is extremely hard working, protective and in service to you. The magic of this pairing is that you complement each other so well, letting you act and make things happen with quiet confidence. Your Scorpio need for depth provides your Sag's boundless optimism with direction and a solid structure. You are attracted to relationships that suggest innumerable possibilities and that make you feel hopeful, based on shared spiritual beliefs as well as fighting devotion. Your energy is nurtured in an environment of mutual respect and ongoing exploration.

Jupiter in Aquarius

As the free-roaming, adventurous Sagittarius sun meets fortune and expansion in Jupiter’s humanitarian, eccentric realm of Aquarius, your actions are a perfect potpourri of infinite adventure and revolutionary ideals. Your personality's longing is for truth, freedom and all of things, but the lover in your soul is wild to break from all that binds you and suffering secretly under an insatiable love of variety which must act as a great deal for collective aspirations; with an infinite detachment.
This dynamic has a rather beautiful and interesting pull to it. Your Sagittarius sun needs to be out and about — soaking up new knowledge and experiences with the kind of freedom that knows few boundaries. But with your Jupiter in Aquarius, you are pulled toward a world of deep passion and transformative mission, always trying to get to the very very heart of everything. This also means that you get to experience human connections as deep and rewarding as your emotional prowess will allow them, and your energy directed into areas which are truly worth of this dedication and devotion.
It is your intuition and initiative that makes this combination so potent — you simply plow on quietly using your intuitive capabilities. Your Aquarius initiative puts some direction behind your Sagittarius’s limitless optimism, and an earthy base under all the hyperbole. You are attracted to relationships that are expansive and optimistic centered on shared spiritual beliefs and/or a deep commitment. Your energies soar in an environment of mutual respect and ongoing discovery.

Saturn in Capricorn

Your truest instincts are to search for truth and freedom, to go into the world and share your wisdom with a light touch. But the great life lesson of your life is about building a successful and structured life through hard work and discipline, delivered by Saturn. This pairing makes for an intriguing tug of war between your love of adventure and quest for the truth.
Your Sagittarius sun’s desire is to be the truth-seeker, the one who emerges victorious from adventurous ideas and open-ended exploration. But, your Saturn in Capricorn wants to school you in that deep wisdom requires nothing less than a conscious commitment to go deep with the invisible truths of your relations. It makes you tell the truth no matter how awkward, and it makes you set clear boundaries so that you can give to others without losing yourself. The trick is figuring out how to be a curious adventurer and, also, a stalwart advocate for justice.
This placement's power is harnessing your unrefined intellect and making it into a tangible, visible good. You can be a voice powerful, a public leader in creating harmony within your own social circles and beyond. It is you job to use your insatiable appetite for knowledge to create relationships and communities that are built on respect and a mutual sense of trust. You are a capable navigatrix through complicated emotional terrain, who is also able to plant your feet in the sand about what feels right for you.

Uranus in Cancer

A person with their Sagittarius sun and a Uranus in Cancer is a wandering philosopher who must become a nurturing theorist. Your deepest instincts are to look for the truth and your freedom, wanting to see all the fronts of the world while allowing a light touch of your wisdom. But your life’s great lesson, from Uranus, is how you can create balance, structure, and a change so profound in their relationships. The Sagittarius sun, urges you to be the truth-seeker, the pretty one who slays triumph by pursuing grand ideas and exploring the open. However, with the Uranus in Cancer, your truth is that you have to battle that hidden truth in your relationships. Uranus  in Cancer makes you have to fight for what you believe is right even if it means getting uncomfortable about it, and you also need to be able to put down clear cut boundaries so you can give others without losing yourself to them. The natal chart reading below describes their innate strengths, weaknesses, vulnerabilities, daily routine, and pivotal life moments – revealing what exactly makes them the icon we admire

Read on to discover how the planetary forces align to determine Zachary Taylor’s creative genius, career ambitions, remarkable achievements, wisdom, and wit.

Sun in Sagittarius 3°06

People born under the sign of Sagittarius bear the seal of their sign's ruler, Jupiter, who symbolizes justice and happiness. They are therefore optimistic, active, social and very honest, to the point where their frankness sometimes hurts others without them realizing it. Their character is not one of scathing satire or malice, but their idea of justice implies that people deserve to know the truth.

Their reactions are immediate, and they often act on impulse, without measuring the consequences of their behavior. They can be provoked in a matter of seconds and explode, but they can forget everything just as quickly without having the slightest idea that they may have hurt someone emotionally. They didn't mean to hurt anyone, did they?

Those who get to know them better and get used to them will not only have fun, but also find reliable friends, who may sometimes talk too loudly, but can generally be trusted.

These people hate being limited in any way. They're capable of hard work, but they can't feel that it's an unavoidable duty and that someone is supervising them.

They are happy in the role of host and as such often exaggerate their possibilities. Their carelessness when they're having fun is the cause. They act the same way when someone needs help. They immediately do what's needed and don't expect gratitude or anything in return. They don't need a lot of money for themselves because they don't need to show off, and they're certainly not systematic savers.

They are able to see the bright side of life andinspire others to have a more optimistic view of the world. To others, they may seem a little shallow, but in reality they have a philosophical mindset that allows them to see narrow-mindedness from a different perspective. Their forgiveness and kindness also help them in life. They spoil this "image" by their uncompromising fight for justice, when they can't restrain themselves from adopting aggressive behavior. Those around them often fail to notice that they almost never fight for themselves.

They defend their pride even at the cost of material loss. They don't like long explanations and don't like humiliating themselves, so they simply slam the door and forget their rights.

Moon in Taurus 4°06'

Your security depends on stability, which is not easy to satisfy. You may have a practical nature, dependent on the material aspects of life. You must learn to accept change as part of your life, otherwise complications may arise - changes caused by other people you love, illness, etc. The fundamental problem is to find your own way. The fundamental problem is to find your own self-respect, so that you don't wrongly seek it in material things. When you accept yourself as you are, it will be easier to find peace and tranquility in the outside world. Your advantage is the ability to perceive yourself and your body, and to satisfy your own needs as well as those of others.

Ascendant in Capricorn 29°05'

Ascendant (rising sign)

People whose ascendant is in Capricorn must first become aware of their two opposing sides. One is obedience and the correct fulfillment of duties. They must manage their energy well, which requires discipline and self-control. They must achieve a certain social prestige and recognition. The other side is the ability to organize practical things and achieve their goals, as well as the ability to enjoy sensual pleasures.

Cancer Descendant - Partners and compatibility
If you have a Capricorn Ascendant, your Cancer Descendant will awaken your gentleness, sensitivity and need to care for and protect yourself. You should appreciate a partner who tries to help you get out of your thick skin with his childlike naiveté. You need his care, so don't be afraid to reveal the little child still hiding inside you. Release your emotions, because if you don't, the dam holding them back will burst one day.

Perhaps you need to discover that you feel comfortable in a traditional family setting, where everyone knows their roles, responsibilities and limits.
