Benjamin Franklin Bio

Benjamin Franklin (January 17, 1706 [O.S. January 6, 1706] - April 17, 1790) was one of the founding fathers of the United States. A renowned polymath, Franklin was a leading author, printer, political theorist, politician, Freemason, postmaster, scientist, inventor, civic activist, statesman and diplomat. As a scientist, he was a major figure in the American Enlightenment and in the history of physics for his discoveries and theories on electricity. As an inventor, he is known for the lightning rod, bifocals and the Franklin stove, among other inventions. He founded numerous civic organizations, including the Philadelphia Fire Department and a university. Franklin earned the title "First American" for his early and tireless campaign for colonial unity, first as an author and spokesman for several colonies in London. As America's first ambassador to France, he embodied the nascent American nation. Franklin played a fundamental role in defining the American ethic as a marriage between the practical values of thrift, work, education, community spirit, autonomous institutions and opposition to political and religious authoritarianism, and the scientific and tolerant values of the Enlightenment. According to Walter Isaacson, this made Franklin "the most accomplished American of his time, and the most influential in inventing the kind of society America was to become". Franklin became a successful newspaper publisher and printer in Philadelphia, the principal city of the colonies. With two partners, he published the Pennsylvania Chronicle, a newspaper known for its revolutionary sentiments and criticism of British politics. He grew rich publishing Poor Richard's Almanac and the Pennsylvania Gazette. He played a major role in the creation of the University of Pennsylvania and was elected first president of the American Philosophical Society. Franklin became a national hero in America when, as agent for several colonies, he led efforts to have the unpopular Stamp Act repealed by the London Parliament. An accomplished diplomat, he was widely admired by the French as American minister in Paris, and played a major role in the development of positive Franco-American relations. His efforts to enlist the support of the American Revolution by sending crucial munitions proved vital to the American war effort. For many years, he was the British postmaster for the colonies, which enabled him to set up the first national communications network. He was involved in community affairs, colonial and state politics, as well as national and international affairs. From 1785 to 1788, he was Governor of Pennsylvania. Towards the end of his life, he freed his own slaves and became one of the most prominent abolitionists. His colorful life and legacy of scientific and political achievement, as well as his status as one of America’s most influential Founding Fathers, have earned Franklin honors on coins and the $100 bill, on warships, on the names of numerous cities, counties, educational institutions, businesses and, more than two centuries after his death, on countless cultural references.

Read on to discover how the planetary forces align to determine Benjamin Franklin’s creative genius, career ambitions, remarkable achievements, wisdom, and wit.

Sun in Capricorn 27°11

The sign of Capricorn is ruled by the planet Saturn, which gives people born under this sign peace, patience, perseverance and ambition. These people are capable of putting maximum effort into a job they've chosen or been asked to do. They are friendly and cheerful people, but at their core, they are serious and responsible, and everything they do is based on these attitudes.

They are very strong-willed, so they generally get what they want and leave nothing to chance. In business, they adhere to well-defined contracts, and follow good practice when researching for preparatory studies or in the field of art. Interestingly, these people generally choose the most difficult tasks, and obstacles make them stronger rather than more difficult. They never mind repeating the same task until they achieve the best possible result. Few people are as suited to research as Capricorns.

They are cautious, reliable people whom others trust because tact and discretion are part of their good character traits. Their focused minds don't allow them to be distracted by a wide circle of friends, but if they accept someone, they're loyal. They may appear dull to others, but in the company of people who suit them, they are cheerful, funny companions. Their humor is witty, because even then, they don't succumb to superficiality.

Moon in Pisces 5°19'

The Moon in Pisces has the greatest sensitivity and perception of the environment. The person may experience feelings of insecurity, be passive and wait to see what happens in their life. If you engage in a creative or spiritual quest, you may become an artist or mystic with a vivid imagination.

You can be docile and seductive, and dream of your ideal partner. Thanks to your imagination, you may find him or her, but in time, the dream fades and your partner will end up seeming boring and spoiled. You have to accept the reality that lies somewhere in between. You tend to have habits, and alcohol or drugs can be part of them. But these are only substitutes, and you have to determine what your soul really needs. Instead of looking for the boat of your dreams, you should become a lifeboat.

Ascendant in Aries 7°12'

Ascendant (rising sign )

People with an Aries ascendant are decisive. They want to be active and have the power to impose their intentions. They want to discover their own abilities and don't want to wait for what comes from outside. If they're introverts, it will take some time before they find the typical Aries confidence and get what they want; if they fail, they may become frustrated or throw tantrums.

Libra Descendant - Partners and compatibility
The Libra Descendant forces a person to tone down their aggressive style and be more considerate. But before she can calm down and learn to control herself, she must first discover her strength and courage to be independent. She must gradually acquire courtesy, discretion and thoughtfulness towards others.

If you have the Aries ascendant, your partner may seem indecisive or overly diplomatic. If you don't argue with him, he may adopt a position of passive resistance. He'll stay with you for a while, but if you're selfish and unscrupulous, he may decide to leave. Try to show your gentleness and don't allow others to see you as a challenge or a threat.
