Franklin Pierce Bio

Franklin Pierce (November 23, 1804 – October 8, 1869) was the 14th President of the United States (1853–57). Pierce was a northern Democrat who saw the abolitionist movement as a fundamental threat to the unity of the nation. His polarizing actions in championing and signing the Kansas–Nebraska Act and enforcing the Fugitive Slave Act failed to stem intersectional conflict, setting the stage for Southern secession. Born in New Hampshire, Pierce served in the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate until he resigned from the latter in 1842. His private law practice in his home state was a success; he was appointed U.S. Attorney for his state in 1845. Pierce took part in the Mexican–American War as a brigadier general in the Army. Seen by Democrats as a compromise candidate uniting northern and southern interests, he was nominated as the party's candidate for president on the 49th ballot at the 1852 Democratic National Convention. In the 1852 presidential election, Pierce and his running mate William R. King easily defeated the Whig Party ticket of Winfield Scott and William A. Graham. While Pierce was popular and outgoing, his family life was a grim affair, with his wife Jane suffering from illness and depression for much of her life. All of their children died young, their last son being gruesomely killed in a train accident while the family was traveling shortly before Pierce's inauguration. As president, Pierce simultaneously attempted to enforce neutral standards for civil service while also satisfying the diverse elements of the Democratic Party with patronage, an effort which largely failed and turned many in his party against him. Pierce was a Young America expansionist who signed the Gadsden Purchase of land from Mexico and led a failed attempt to acquire Cuba from Spain. He signed trade treaties with Britain and Japan, while his Cabinet reformed their departments and improved accountability, but these successes were overshadowed by political strife. His popularity in the Northern states declined sharply after he supported the Kansas–Nebraska Act, which nullified the Missouri Compromise, while many whites in the South continued to support him. Passage of the act led to violent conflict over the expansion of slavery in the American West. Pierce's administration was further damaged when several of his diplomats issued the Ostend Manifesto, calling for the annexation of Cuba, a document which was roundly criticized. Although Pierce fully expected to be renominated by the Democrats in the 1856 presidential election, he was abandoned by his party and his bid failed. His reputation in the North suffered further during the Civil War as he became a vocal critic of President Abraham Lincoln. Pierce, who had been a heavy drinker for much of his life, died of severe cirrhosis of the liver in 1869. US historians and other political commentators generally rank Pierce's presidency among the worst.

Asc in Leo

Sun in Sagittarius

When the Sun returns to Sagittarius, people with the Sun in this sign experience a clear reset point for the year. This period supports focus, recovery of energy, and reconnection with a more authentic sense of direction and identity. They often notice a rise in vitality, confidence, and readiness to pursue new opportunities in areas they genuinely enjoy, such as study, travel, personal projects, or growth‑oriented work.
This influence strengthens the Sagittarian drive to search for truth, expand horizons, and keep life meaningful and engaging. It is an effective time to take ownership of one’s story, communicate it openly, and make choices that align daily actions with long‑term values and goals. When they act in line with who they are, their self‑trust and natural visibility tend to increase.
At the same time, the same enthusiasm that fuels progress can lead to overextension, impatience, or behavior that ignores reasonable limits. The key risk in this phase is going too far, too fast, driven by optimism alone. Balancing freedom with focus -using extra energy for well‑chosen projects rather than scattering it - helps them turn this transit into tangible progress instead of burnout or unnecessary complications.

Moon in Leo

A person who is a Sagittarius is the epitome of raging passion and soaring hope while the Moon is in the sign of Leo. Both their Sun and Moon are located in the sign of fire, which contributes to the fact that their personality is incredibly self-assured, fascinating, and powerful. Their fundamental identity as a Sagittarius is determined by their desire for independence, adventure, and the pursuit of the truth. On the other side, the need to be seen, appreciated, and appropriately expressed within their emotional inner world is what drives their emotional inner world. In addition to being appealing, this combo is also dependable. As a result of the fact that their emotions and personality are in harmony with one another, they are a natural leader and self-expressive. Because of the self-assured and enthusiastic manner in which they communicate, they are able to preserve people's attention. In addition to that, they are an excellent storyteller and an exemplary leader. They are extremely devoted to the people they care about, and you will not hesitate to defend them with all your might, particularly if you believe that they are being treated in an unjust manner. However, despite its incredible power, this energy does have a few downsides. Because of the shallowness of sentiments, it is possible that they are emotionally unstable and prone to having major outburst events. It is possible that they have difficulty being patient and concentrating, and that their desire for attention may make it difficult for them to deal with some situations.

Mercury in Scorpio

And so when the free-roaming, buoyant Sagittarius sun links minds with Mercury in Scorpio’s deep and transformative waters, you’re a seeker of truth with an unexpectedly strong and keen eye. You are a force of nature on the outside, acting confidently and without reservation, while under the surface you function in an incredibly sensitive, emotional and even manipulative way.
And that's how it works, and I think it is a really lovely synergy. Your Sagittarius sun wants to move, learn a grow with abandon. But your Mercury in Scorpio draws you to a universe of emotional investigation, power and journeying into a more substantial sense of truth. It is thus that you don't merely experience the world, but allow yourself to express with greater intention and depth. I guess you can be high-energy for one minute and grounded in power the next.
And the true power of this combo is that you can bring your heart into unison with your mind! Your Scorpio mind bring an amazing sense of purpose and vision to your Sagittarius' philosophical mind. You are not just a bold adventurer; you are strong and transformative, harnessing the ability to use your words to help others and change lives. Scorpio’s deep desire becomes your patient resolve to do what’s right, and your life is imbued with a sense of destiny.

Venus in Libra

As the free-spirited, optimistic sun follows its heart to your own feeing-center, Venus in Libra: In love, you are a romantic dance between a longing for adventure and a deeply rooted yearning for partnership. Your outer will is individualistic, in search of truth and freedom for all being and things; your inner world of relationships craves balance, justice and mutual respect.
This tension creates a beautiful and breathtaking pull. Your Sagittarius sun is designed to be in motion, to seek, to learn and grow with brave abandon. But your Venus in Libra is taking you toward a universe of collaborative love, social grace and ceaseless pursuit of harmony in partnership. The truth is you can get out into the world and clear your lovey dovey clad heart without being a slut, but gentle-hearted with high fidelity to others.
The real magic of this pairing is the ability to love one another with a gentle heart and an adventurous spirit. Your Libra heart makes your Sagittarius’s boundless enthusiasm feel not only possible but purposeful and on a lovely, harmonious foundation. You are attracted to partners that are elegant and balanced, with whom you share a passion for ideas, and with a fierce loyalty; your love thrives in an environment of mutual respect and admiration.

Mars in Leo

Your actions are a unique mix of boundless adventure and dramatic self-expression as the free-roaming hopeful Sagittarius sun meets its match in the proud creative Mars in Leo. Externally, you want truth and freedom to be a part of your life as far as the eye can see, but at an internal level when it comes to motivating forces in your life you want reaction forming admiration through romance with a bold, brash style in pursuit of goals.
It’s a beautiful, intriguing pull. Your Sagittarius sun craves to but not necessarily anyway, learn and grow with a bold abandon. But your Mars in Leo is pushing you toward a world of dramatic performance, brave behavior and never-ending efforts to be the star doing something other people only hope to do. This makes you capable not only of knowing the emotional depths of human love, but also expressing your energy in ways that are dependable and fiercely protective as well as deeply devoted.
The real power behind this connection resides in your drive to follow your gut and get things done with a dogged determination. Your Leo power adds a deep sense of purpose and passion to your Sag’s boundless enthusiasm. You’re attracted to relationships that are expansive and hopeful, founded on shared spiritual principles and a fierce devotion. Your vibration does well in the presence of mutual respect and excitement.

Jupiter in Scorpio

As the free spirit of the optimistic Sagittarius sun meets its luck, expansion in passionate depths with Jupiter in Scorpio, your actions reflect a beautiful energy of expansive adventure and boundless deep passion. Your self-expression finds maximum empowerment in the pursuit of truth and freedom on all levels, but your under layers are motivated by a desperate longing for intense passion, restorative commitment, and enveloping expansion.
It’s what makes it a gorgeous and fantalising pull. Your Sagittarius sun craves to wander and learn and grow with graceless abandon. But your Jupiter in Scorpio draws and takes you into a world full of deep passion, transforming aims, as well as always wanting to get at the real heart of anything. Then you get to experience not just the emotional intimacy of human interaction, but also, channel your energy into someone who is ridiculously loyal, protective and devoted.
Where the real strength of this combination is - trusting yourself to feel things, and make them happen with a subtle but sure fire way. Your uber-enthusiastic Sagittarius’ limitless enthusiasm is given depth and power by your Scorpio drive, which also provides it with a practical base. You’re magnetized to alliances that feel expansive and optimistic, based on shared spiritual principles and fierce devotion. Your energy feeds off a shared respect and discovery.

Saturn in Libra

Having all of this shiny Sagittarius sun and geared up Saturn in Libra is kind of like the universe’s way of saying “that’s fascinating, now you have to go to law school”. Your deepest instincts are to find truth and freedom, to wander the world and share your wisdom.  But your ultimate life’s lesson, as revealed through Saturn, is to establish balance, structure, and objectivity in your institutionalized relationships. It’s a real head-scratcher, this one: the Sagittarius sun just wants to get higher and higher on that buoyant Leo heat until it finds victory in far-off ideas and reckless sniffs. But your Saturn in Libra is here to teach you that true wisdom is hard-won, a real, whittled effort to shape reasonable equality between partners. You will always be challenged by your two inner natures: a lifelong explorer and a lifelong judge. The true power of this combo comes with the recognition that you can transform your intelligence into a sureness, a vocal, engaging power for the common good. You are a leader for those who cannot lead themselves. That tempting Sagittarian court is skimmed away by your logically-empowered activist of a Saturn. Sand through your fingers. Your power lies in the formation of dynamic intellectual abilities into literal, reputable foundationally clear reasoning social interaction: force fields of fairness.

Uranus in Libra

A native with their Sagittarius sun and a Uranus in Libra is wandering philosopher turned visionary theorist. Your deepest impulses are toward truth and freedom, toward schooling the world and imparting wisdom lightly. These two combine to create a good/bad push-pull between your jet setting, adventurous spirit and an obligation to sincere investigation.
Your Sagittarius sun longs to be the truth-seeker, the one who reels in victory from daring ideas and boundless exploration. But your Uranus in Libra is here to tell you that real wisdom means facing a difficult truth about your relationships. It makes you stick up for what matters to you, no matter how uncomfortable, and draw a line in the sand so that you can give to others without giving yourself away. The task is to become both a curious adventurer and a tenacious fighter for justice.
The real magic of this alignment is turning the raw horsepower of intelligence into a solid visible force for good. You can be a powerful voice, a public leader who helps foster harmony within your social circles and beyond. Your job is to engage in conversation and connection that encourages the unique shared trust of resolve and respect. You can move across the sort of monstrous emotional terrain no one else dares or even knows how to cross, while still holding an immutable line in the sand about what you know to be true.

Neptune in Scorpio

A Sagittarius Sun is characterized by optimism, curiosity, and a passion for discovery. Sagittarians are adventurous, philosophical, and eager to learn, travel, or develop in order to broaden their knowledge of the world. When Neptune is in Scorpio, that adventure takes on a depth, intensity, and transformative quality. Neptune in Scorpio encourages deep emotional understanding, curiosity about what is concealed, and an eagerness to discover the deep and mystical elements of life. This individual, therefore, expresses a sense of adventure combined with intuition and emotion. Even though Sagittarius drives them to explore outer space and everything it provides, Neptune in Scorpio drives them to seek the underlying connections, roots, drivers, and meanings. They may be attracted to research, spirituality, psychology, or art in which vision and depths are combined. This Sun-Neptune combination, particularly Sun in Sagittarius Neptune in Scorpio, seeks to harmonize fundamental Sagittarian traits. Sagittarius is characterized by a passion for freedom and knowledge, while Neptune in Scorpio is driven by an extraordinary desire for perception and transformation. Internally, this might lead to: The Sagittarius Sun working to discover and comprehend, always searching for freedom and understanding.

Pluto in Pisces

A Sagittarius Sun has an optimistic eye, a curious mind and loves to explore. Sagittarians are philosophical and adventurous, and they are naturally inclined towards learning, travel, and exploration. With Pluto in Pisces, it has a new, transformative and deeply intuitive flavor. Pisces with Pluto in your sign, you are led to grow spiritually, emotionally and through seeking meaning that is not apparent.
The result is someone who has a mixture of adventurousness and empathy, much less true existential depth. Sagittarius wants truth and freedom; Pluto in his sign Pisces draws you into a deeper search for wisdom, spiritual enlightenment and deep changes. These can all be connected to teaching, traveling, healing and rejuvenating in alternative ways through the creative arts or serving human being course work which combines exploration with feeling and spiritual journeying.
On a more profound level, Sagittarius Sun with Pluto in Pisces could live by finding ways to harmonize the urge for freedom and travel with retrospection, intuition and transformational insight. They can be used to broaden horizons and become a tool for personal as well as communal growth. When harmonious, this pairing manifests into someone who is willing to experiment, trust their gut, and transform oneself — an individual with the possibility of exploration joined by wisdom and spiritual depth.

Every struggle, every challenge, and every triumph of the world’s most prominent personalities is written in the sky, and now you can decode the celestial forces behind Franklin Pierce’s charm and career success. The natal chart reading below describes their innate strengths, weaknesses, vulnerabilities, daily routine, and pivotal life moments – revealing what exactly makes them the icon we admire

Read on to discover how the planetary forces align to determine Franklin Pierce’s creative genius, career ambitions, remarkable achievements, wisdom, and wit.

Sun in Sagittarius 1°21’

People born under the sign of Sagittarius bear the seal of the ruler of their sign, Jupiter, which symbolizes justice and happiness. They are therefore optimistic, active, social and very honest, sometimes to the extent that their directness hurts others, without them being aware of it. Their character does not consist of scathing satire or malice, but their idea of justice implies that people deserve to know the truth.

They are people of immediate reactions, which often act on impulse, without having managed to figure out the consequences of their behaviour. They can be provoked in seconds and explode, but they can forget everything just as quickly without having the slightest idea that they could have hurt somebody emotionally. They did not mean to harm anybody, did they!?

Those who get to know them better and get used to them will not only experience a lot of fun, but also find reliable friends, who might sometimes talk too much, but generally can be trusted.

These people hate being restricted in any way. They are able to work a lot, but they cannot have the impression that it is an unavoidable duty and that somebody supervises them.

They are happy in the role of a host and as such they often exaggerate their possibilities. Their carelessness in the moment when they are having a good time is to blame for this. They act in a similar way when somebody needs help. They will do immediately what is needed and they do not expect gratitude or anything in return. They do not need much money for themselves because they do not have the need to show off and they are definitely not systematic money savers.

They are able to see the bright side of life and inspire others to have more optimistic worldviews. To others they might seem a bit shallow, but in reality they have a philosophical spirit, which lets them see narrow-mindedness from a different perspective. Their forgiveness and goodness also help them in life. They spoil this "image" by their uncompromising fight for justice when they cannot restrain themselves from aggressive behaviour. Other people around them often fail to notice that they hardly ever fight for themselves.

They defend their pride even at the cost of material losses. They do not like lengthy explanations and they do not like to humiliate themselves so they only slam the door and forget about their rights.

Moon in Leo 26°44’

You feel safe in moments when you can impress others and get praise and admiration. Yet, when you get into the spotlight, you may find yourself at a loss. You probably have a desire for money and social status, and have a strong ability to get it. Maybe you should admit your fear of criticism and your inability to accept criticism. It is very important to accept feedback and use it for improvement; do not try to only make excuses for yourself. You have a talent for drama and creative activities; and because of your playfulness you are likely very good with children. Learn how to keep your distance, because you unnecessarily perceive everything either as praise or as insult.

Ascendant in Aries 10°15’

Ascendant (Rising Sign)

People with Aries Ascendant are decisive. They want to be active and have the power to enforce their intentions. They want to discover their own abilities and they do not want to wait for what comes from the outside. If they are introverts, it will take a while before they find assertiveness that is typical for Aries and get what they want; if this fails, they might get frustrated or have temper tantrums.

Libra Descendant - Partners & Compatibility
Libra Descendant forces a person to tone down his aggressive style and be more considerate. But before they are able to calm down and learn self-control, they must first discover their strength and courage to be independent. They should gradually acquire courtesy, discretion and thoughtfulness toward others.

If you have Aries Ascendant, your partner may seem to you indecisive or too diplomatic. If you do not discuss things with him he might take a position of passive resistance. He will be with you for a while, but if you are selfish and unscrupulous, he may decide to leave. Try to show your gentleness and do not allow that others see you as as a challenge or threat.
