Vitus Bering Bio

Vitus Jonassen Bering (baptised 5 August 1681, died 19 December 1741), also known as Ivan Ivanovich Bering, was a Danish cartographer and explorer in Russian service, and an officer in the Russian Navy. He is known as a leader of two Russian expeditions, namely the First Kamchatka Expedition and the Great Northern Expedition, exploring of the north-eastern coast of the Asian continent and from there the western coast on the North American continent. The Bering Strait, the Bering Sea, Bering Island, the Bering Glacier and the Bering Land Bridge were all named in his honour. Taking to the seas at the age of 18, Bering travelled extensively over the next eight years, as well as taking naval training at Amsterdam. In 1704, he enrolled with the rapidly expanding Russian navy of Tsar Peter I (Peter the Great). After serving with the navy in significant but non-combat roles during the Great Northern War, Bering resigned in 1724 to avoid the continuing embarrassment of his low rank to Anna, his wife of eleven years; and upon retirement was promoted to First Captain. Bering was permitted to keep the rank as he rejoined the Russian navy later the same year. He was selected by the Tsar to captain the First Kamchatka Expedition, an expedition set to sail north from Russian outposts on the Kamchatka peninsula, with the charge to map the new areas visited and to establish whether Asia and America shared a land border. Bering departed from St. Petersburg in February 1725 as the head of a 34-man expedition, aided by the expertise of Lieutenants Martin Spangberg and Aleksei Chirikov. The party took on men as it headed towards Okhotsk, encountering many difficulties (most notably a lack of food) before arriving at the settlement. From there, the men sailed to the Kamchatka peninsula, preparing new ships there and sailing north (repeating a little-documented journey of Semyon Dezhnyov eighty years previously). In August 1728, Bering decided that they had sufficient evidence that there was clear sea between Asia and America, which he did not sight during the trip. For the first expedition, Bering was rewarded with money, prestige, and a promotion to the noble rank of Captain Commander. He immediately started preparations for a second trip. Having returned to Okhotsk with a much larger, better prepared, and much more ambitious expedition, Bering set off for an expedition towards North America in 1741. While doing so, the expedition spotted Mount Saint Elias, and sailed past Kodiak Island. A storm separated the ships, but Bering sighted the southern coast of Alaska, and a landing was made at Kayak Island or in the vicinity. Adverse conditions forced Bering to return, but he documented some of the Aleutian Islands on his way back. One of the sailors died and was buried on one of these islands, and Bering named the island group Shumagin Islands after him. Bering himself became too ill to command his ship, which was at last driven to seek refuge on an uninhabited island in the Commander Islands group (Komandorskiye Ostrova) in the southwest Bering Sea. On 19 December 1741 Vitus Bering died on the island, which was given the name Bering Island after him, near the Kamchatka Peninsula, reportedly from scurvy (although this has been contested), along with 28 men of his company.

Sun in Leo

Individuals who were born under the sign of Leo experience a natural increase in their own inner power while the Sun is in the sign of Leo. Due to the fact that this is their time of year, they experience feelings of power, self-assurance, and purpose. The allure of Leos is amplified when they are under the influence of their own sun sign, which contributes to the overall allure of this sign. Because of the clarity that they have gained regarding their interests, aspirations, and creative expressions, Leos are in a position to achieve success in both their personal and professional life at this time. People are prompted to examine their own selves as a result of this transit because it prompts them to contemplate the things that are truly important to them and the things that are congruent with who they are. It's possible that Leos may have a greater need to make use of their innate creativity and enthusiasm in order to initiate projects, take the initiative, or inspire others. The increased degree of energy that Leos possess may be beneficial to their relationships since they are constantly warm, compassionate, and generous. Because of their charisma and self-assurance, they are able to attract friends and lovers, which in turn strengthens their connections with other people. When the Sun is in the sign of Leo, goals and the ability to be visible at work are of utmost significance. They are now in a position where taking chances and demonstrating their capabilities might be beneficial to their professional advancement.

Moon in Sagittarius

They become a person with a lot of drive and an unbounded spirit when the proud and creative fires of a Leo sun meet the fiery and bold fires of a Sagittarius moon. They are a born leader because they are bold and self-assured. However, their inner self is a passionate, free-spirited force that requires either a big truth or a big adventure in order to feel at peace. An intriguing and potent synergy results from this dynamic. They truly want to be bold, take command, and guide others because they have a Leo sun. However, when their moon is in Sagittarius, it encourages them to seek out a more expansive, intelligent, and adventurous world. As a result, they can proceed with a more significant and optimistic goal. At any time, they can transition from being busy to offering wise counsel. This combination is incredibly strong because of their unwavering self-confidence. They most likely have a lot of faith and a broad perspective on their artistic abilities if they are a Leo and their moon is in Sagittarius. They are more than just a leader; they are a powerful force whose deeds have the power to alter and maintain the lives of others. The Sagittarius' idealism will give their strong drive a moral compass, and their deeds will make them a force for justice and truth.

Mercury in Virgo

When that proud and inventive Leo sun centers its gaze in the critical and methodical world of Mercury’s Virgo, you are one who does not just shine with style but also with a highly impressive mental facility and chiseled mind. Your outer persona is all about being centre stage and making a splash with confidence, where as your inner world doesn't quite work like that - it runs deeply sensitive, emotionally lead and sometimes harsh!
This dynamic lends itself to this beautiful symbiotic relationship. Your Leo sun craves to be seen and adored, to lead, to take the lead with brave aggression. But that Mercury in Virgo drags you toward a realm of practical analysis and search for something closer to the literal truth. Which means you're able to charge ahead and express yourself with a deeper, more deliberate intent. In one moment you are larger than life, the next a thoughtful force. The true magic of this combination is your ability to connect your heart to your brain. Your Leo's flair for drama gets a deep sense of purpose and a clear vision from your Virgo mind. You are more than just entertainment; you are a powerful, life-changing, change-making individual who can use the power of your spoken word to effect lasting change. The grounded and steady drive of the Virgo helps to gives your patient endurance a moral compass, making you a force for justice and truth.

Venus in Leo

When the proud, creative Leo sun lands in the deeply theatrical, passionate Venus in Leo you’re someone for whom your whole being is an artwork of pure, celebratory romance. You are shelter me and I is to you my love you're Rained from my both day and night Your outside, untold expression in its surface, that receives no front your inside infinite courage A mirror of the same passionate and loyal love.
This double-fire combination makes you one of the most powerfully directed and action-oriented people in the zodiac. You’re not feeling love, you are love. You have a strong sense of what you believe and stick to, and are fiercely protective and loyal to those you love. You are not one to love just a single person; yours is the kind of love for all of humankind and you connect with other people’s magic, their spirit in every connection.
Yet, with this vast energy comes substantial hurdles. The double Leo can cause you to be very dramatic and defensive, because you probably keep your emotions hidden deep inside in order to protect the part of yourself that may feel quite vulnerable. You may find it hard to be emotionally patient, you have such deep feelings. The world is a lot, and you can be susceptible to burnout when you’re emotionally wiped.
Your route to inner peace starts with your ability to love at a spiritual and real level. By relying on a partner who can assist you with the mundane details of life, you can learn to channel all that unlimited love into constructive action rather than be overwhelmed by it.

Mars in Gemini

The willful, artistic Leo sun is at Motown with wily Mars in all-knowing Gemini flying first class: You wear your theatre-loving heart on a lobe emboldened by deep intellectual curiosity and fierce loyalty. The overt you basks in the limelight and exude confidence, but beneath the surface of your inner self lies an intense hunger for intellectual stimulation, eclectic tastes and lighthearted strategies toward accomplishing objectives.
And that dynamic is a gorgeous and fascinating pull. Your Leo sun wants to be queen of the stage, calling the shots and acting with bold authority. It means you are able not only to redden at the molten core of human attachment; you can express yourself in an extraordinarily expressive, ballsy and futurist manner.
The real strength of this combination is that you have the instinct to make things happen and you do – in a subtly determined way. Your Leo is blessed with Gemini drive and is driven to make sure all of its histrionics are rooted as deeply as possible in purpose and an audience. You’re attracted to unions that seem large and bright, based on a shared enthusiasm for social causes as well as avid commitment. Your energy will be energized by one full of respect, and the constant discovery.

Jupiter in Libra

Your instinctual mode of growth is now filtered through your overdeveloped sense of self-confidence and flair for the dramatic, thanks to the stately sun’s increased luminescence in Jupiter-ruled Libra, encouraging you to trust in grace and harmony as lucky Jupiter knocks on your door. Your ego adores the bright lights, always striving outwards with a fearless and brash attitude but deep within your motivational core is a strong craving for balance – partnership or otherwise: you long for serenity as the background to all expansion in the realm of romance.
This gives you a lovely, compelling tug. Your Leo sun needs to be the star, to lead, and to initiate with wanton force. But your Jupiter in Libra tugs you toward a realm of intense longing, transformative aims and an endless quest to get to the heart of everything. Not only do you get to experience the fiery lower depths of human relationship, but also give your energy in an extremely supportive, protective and loyal way.
The way this dynamic duo truly excels is that you feel the confidence to follow your gut and to somehow make things happen based on a quiet self-belief. Your Libra drive provides your Leo’s dramatic flare with deep purpose and sets a solid footing. You're attracted to alliances that seem airy, yet optimistic, based both on mutual dedication to saving the world and a shared ferocity. Your energy feeds on a mutual respect and open mindedness.

Saturn in Scorpio

A Leo sun with a Saturn in Scorpio is the star actor who has to go method. At your core, you want to perform and shine, be the charismatic leader who glows at the center of attention. But a great lesson of your life, which is delivered by Saturn, is balance and structure and profound transformation in relationships. This pairing of factors results in an interesting tug of war between your personal desire to shine and a deep urge for objectivity. Your Leo sun needs to be at the center of the show, an unshakeable force that takes bow after triumphant bow. With your Saturn in Scorpio, however, it is here to show you that this thing called victory also calls for an active choice to uncover the truths about the people you get involved with. It challenges you to speak up when something feels wrong or unfair, even if it makes you feel uneasy, and to carve out clear borders so that you can give without losing yourself. The trick is in figuring out how to be confident, bright stars and unyielding advocates for justice.
The real magic of this placement is taking your burning bravery and turning it into something organized, tangible, and beneficial. You are a quiet leader, an influential voice who harmonizes across your social circles and beyond. Your assignment is to use your extraordinary aggressive power to form human connections and communities where trust abounds and respect reigns. You are uniquely wired to deal with the emotional tangles and landscapes of feelings, all while also drawing a permanent line in the sand for the right thing.

Uranus in Aquarius

When you consider a person with Leo sun and a Uranus in Aquarius, imagine a star performer who must evolve into a visionary director. As a performer, your most profound impulses are to perform and shine, to become the charismatic entire planetary pole and the charismatic radiating constant. Even awe-inspiring shall be your glorious moment. But Uranus’s great lesson to you shall be balance, structure, and transformative relationships. This is an electrifying assembly that results in a distinct tug-of-war between the need for greatness and the drive to conduct heavy-handed investigations. Even though you may fantasize about being the crowning recipient of your creative work as the Leo sun, your Uranus in Aquarius is present to force you to perceive the artistic performance surrounding. Therefore, you must confront that there is something much more significant than your own passion to possess. In other words, your Uranus in Uranus in Aquarius compels you to sustain whatever is right and set boundaries in order to expend  power without ever losing oneself. Throughout all contexts, you assume the globe should be wholly transformed. And there’s the distinction.

Neptune in Capricorn

A Leo Sun refers to an individual’s confidence, creativity and a natural path of self-expression. Leos are mostly noted to be charismatic, passionate, and commonly involved in leadership or artistic aspects. This is elevated with Neptune in Capricorn, where its dimension becomes structured, disciplined, and effective. For instance, Neptune in Capricorn allows one to bring vision to life and connects their creativity with proper strategy, which they then achieve through persistence. This formation creates a charismatically ambitious individual who pursues their goals systematically. While a Leo pokes the need for one’s identity and gains from gaining recognition, Neptune in Capricorn influences the ability to achieve results through a vision. These individuals can easily become great leaders owing to their creativity, and at the same time, they communicate discipline. They can develop creative concepts to end products or take part in ventures that are dependent on creativity but need discipline. On a deeper notion, a Leo Sun with Neptune in Capricorn assists an individual in navigating life by blending personal pride or creative and visionary enthusiasm with pragmatic strategy or practicality. They are likely to accomplish great things by shining while developing practical outcomes. A harmonious Leo Sun integrates what it is to be confident, disciplined and visionary in expressing creativity into pragmatic and considerable achievement.

Pluto in Gemini

Pluto is occupying Gemini and illuminates your 11th house of friendships, communities and long-term aspirations, Leo. This is a potent pivot that changes loud who you are listening to, but also quiet where you’re going. For a sign who feeds on loyalty and affirmation, this transit demands: Who’s really got your back, and what dreams are worth it?
You may encounter changes in social circles. Some friendships will grow stronger and you’ll experience soul connections, while others may fade or—if they are no longer a vibrational match to your life — end dramatically. Power dynamics within groups or communities might come into play, schooling you in how to maneuver power and collaboration and boundaries within a collective environment.
This is also the home of your aspirations for the future — and Pluto in this sector demands that you set sights higher, but not in a scattered way. The dreams you’ve been harbouring can seem outdated, and so now they need updating to something that’s genuinely you, that will have genuine impact. You might even feel inspired toward activist, community leadership or projects bigger than just you.
At the end of this transit, Leo, your social life and longterm goals will be unrecognizable. You’ll be among friends who express your values, and your vision of the future will count for something. It's your time to determine not only your own fate but the destiny of the group as a whole.
