Clement Clarke Moore Bio

Clement Clarke Moore (July 15, 1779 – July 10, 1863) was a writer and American Professor of Oriental and Greek Literature, as well as Divinity and Biblical Learning, at the General Theological Seminary of the Protestant Episcopal Church, in New York City. The seminary was developed on land donated by Moore and it continues on this site at Ninth Avenue between 20th and 21st streets, in an area known as Chelsea Square. Moore's connection with the seminary continued for more than 25 years. Moore gained considerable wealth by subdividing and developing other parts of his large inherited estate in what became known as the residential neighborhood of Chelsea. Before this, the urbanized part of the city ended at Houston Street on Manhattan island. For 10 years, Moore also served as a board member of the New York Institution for the Blind. He is credited and is most widely known as the author of the Christmas poem "A Visit from St. Nicholas", first published anonymously in 1823. It later became widely known as "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" and has been published in numerous illustrated versions in various languages. Scholars debate the identity of the author, calling on textual and handwriting analysis as well as other historical sources.

Moon in Leo

Sun in Cancer

Asc in Taurus

Sun in Cancer

All of their greatest attributes, including their feelings, talents, creative abilities, are brought out by the Sun while it is in the sign of Cancer. Respecting their inner world, recognizing and satisfying their needs, and expressing themself are all crucial things to do at this time. They have the ability to transform their sensitivity into a strength rather than a weakness, and they are moreover more in tune with what it is that they want. In addition, throughout this period, their innate empathy and intuition are at their peak, which will assist in making intelligent choices and managing their relationships. When the Sun is in Cancer, it is simpler to be truthful and free of innovative ideas. Through writing, painting, or even just by doing pleasant things for other people, they have the ability to communicate their emotions in a manner that is significant to both them and the people around. Taking care of themself and giving some thought to how they are feeling can be beneficial in maintaining a state of equilibrium; nevertheless, they should be mindful of mood swings and the possibility of being too sensitive.

Moon in Leo

Whenever the Moon is in the sign of Leo for Cancer, they are a very intriguing combination of fiery self-expression and a mood that is similar to water. As a Cancer, this is a consequence of the fact that they are here. As a Cancer, their primary identity is defined by their connection to their house, their concern for other people, and the deep emotional connection they share with family. Their emotional inner world, which is governed by Leo and the Moon, requires that they pay attention to it, respect it, and explain it in a clear and concise approach. This combination has the potential to result in an intriguing internal dynamic. Their Cancer nature is sensitive to everything and prefers to be alone with its feelings, but their Leo Moon needs to express those sentiments in a loud, flashy style that grabs people's attention. Their Cancer nature takes pleasure in being alone with its feelings. They can have the impression that they are at odds with themself as a result of this. In spite of the fact that they give off the impression of being reserved and quiet, they actually possess a core that is unexpectedly dramatic and emotional. Having said that, this combination also possesses a great deal of power. The presence of the Leo Moon in their chart provides them with the self-confidence and self-awareness that sensitive Cancer characteristics require. Making use of the whole spectrum of their feelings enables them to care about other people and to motivate them via the creative expression they choose to convey.

Mercury in Cancer

With the tender loving, but possibly a bit overbearing sun in Cancer telling your mind what's up, you are a human of deep, deep feelings and tremendous loyalty to others. And you are a deep, well of feeling and beliefe in your own vision.
This dual-water placement can make you ton of the most compulsively action-oriented people in the zodiac. “ You do not just think, you get to work applying those thoughts with an iron hand, which can be a gift and especial burden. Balancing your need for emotional safety is the deepness of your soul and you are fiercely loyal and protective to those you love, stopping at nothing to protect them.
But this huge power is also fraught with challenges. You can be tremendous-ly moody, overly sensitive and defensive as the double Cancer holds everything close to your chest, protect-ing the tender inner world. Perhaps emotional patience is a challenge for you, since the depth with which you feel can be hard to handle. The world can be heavy, and you may be susceptible to burning out to shield your mighty interior terrain.
Your middle way is to allow your emotions to liberate you. By learning healthy outlets for the intensity you feel (artistic expression, some kind of outlet or a deep trusting connection with a loved one) — you learn how to navigate the depths without getting swallowed by them. Your mental health depends on finding a way to get these mighty feelings out there, so that you can use your exquisite gifts for healing and bonding as few others even dream of.

Venus in Gemini

When the nurturing Cancer sun inhabits the sweet and sensitive body of Venus in Gemini, you are someone whose love is a million emotional conversations. Outer You desires emotional security and a deep nurturing bonding; your Inner World of Relationships is exploring relationships on an intellectual or lighthearted level.
This is a tension that creates a beautiful, fascinating pull. Your Cancer sun craves building a secure nest and finding solace in the familiar. But your Venus in Gemini is dragging you into a world of friendship-based relationships, really good conversationalists and wanting things that are not just one flavor. This in turn lets you feel the emotional heights of human attachment but to do so in a form which is questioning, flexible, and never proprietary.
The true appeal of this partnership is that you have the capability to devote your heart and your brain to love. Your Gemini heart gives your Cancer emotional sensitivity an intellectual purpose, you're a natural nurturer and can use your words to feed others souls. You are attracted to relationships that fairly crackle with enthusiasm and a new approach, based on equality of ideas and a bond so tight it’s unbreakable – your love flourishes in the air of mutual respect, and a little hearty admiration goes a long way.

Mars in Scorpio

When Cancer’s tender, caring sun is enlivened to the sexier planet in the deeper sign of Scorpio, your behaviors are a mix of emotional nurturing and deep emotional intensity. You are looking for safety and a soul level bonding on the outside of you, but in terms of your motivational world, it is an extremely primal desire that motivates intimacy… control…power and there will be a consuming passion to it.
There's a beautiful and intriguing tension there. Your Cancer sun yearns to build a safe nest and take comfort in the known. But your Mars in Scorpio tugs you into a universe of deep emotion, transformative ambitions, and an endless investigation to the depths of everything. This enables you to not just feel what human connections can make you feel like on an emotional level, but express in a way that’s too reliable too protective and devoted.
The reality is that this blend is all about how you seize the moment and make things happen by doing what feels right, softly determined. Your Cancer's emotional sensitivity is given deep purpose and a stable basis by your Scorpio drive. You are attracted to partnerships that are large and exciting, based on an intimate knowledge of social causes and sheer loyalty. And your vitality can only flourish in an environment of equal respect and ceaseless exploration.

Jupiter in Virgo

When the sweet, nurturing Cancer sun meets luck and expansion in the meticulous, service-oriented Jupiter in Virgo space — with your natural sense of growth filtered through a lens of feeling satisfied and confident — you feel it. Your exterior wants comfort and a cocoon and an inner sanctuary but your approach to motivation is one of a keen sense for perfection, order and pratical stability in expanding.
This is an interesting and beautiful pull. Your Cancer sun seeks to build a secure nest and be comforted by what is familiar. But your Jupiter in Virgo is tugging you toward a world of vast passion, transformative goals and constant need to get right down to the nitty gritty. Because at the same time, you get to experience not just that emotional depth of human connection but also pour your energy into something that is stupidly reliable and protective and loyal.
The real influence of this blend is that you go with your gut and make things occur in quietly persistent way. Your Virgo makes your Cancer's touchy-feely side feel quite purposeful and well rooted. You gravitate toward connections that feel expansive, with a sense of possibility and shared spiritual values, holding fierce devotion. In an environment of respect and continual discovery, your energy truly excels.

Saturn in Scorpio

Someone with their Cancer sun and a Saturn in Scorpio is like a homebody who has to turn into a private-eye. When it comes to it, your deepest instincts are to nurture and protect, building an emotional safe haven where everyone is constantly loved and safe by you because you are everything good. However, the great lesson of your life brought to you by Saturn is balance, structure, and profound transformation in your relationships. There is a fight here between wanting everyone nourished and safe and a need to see things objectively.
Because while your Cancer sun is quiet and caring, giving comfort and deep bonds away, Saturn in Scorpio is here to teach you that true safety only comes from deliberating and looking your relationships’ ugly truths in the face. You are made to act when things aren’t right, even if it makes you squirm, and to create boundaries so clearly people can understand what those are even when you’re at your softest. The struggle here is you learn to both care and be tough. Your strength in this case is in turning your protected, warm nature into a structured, visible force for good. You may be the quiet head, the voice of wisdom who makes the people around you and in your spheres calmer. Your work is to use your vast understanding of emotion to build relationships and groups where everyone trusts everyone profoundly. You know hurt and can respond to it, and you can build standing for what’s right. A fulfilled life for you is about having powerful work relationships. And in your work, quietly showing everyone the good your empathetic assertiveness can do.

Uranus in Gemini

A person of your sign: Cancer sun with a Uranus in Gemini is a homebody who is destined to be a leader of the revolution. Your warmest instinct is to nudge and shield, creating a cozy, wonderfully secure emotional retreat where everyone only loves and feels loved. But your planet, Uranus, will teach you how to bring fairness and structure to your partnership and creates overall radical, transformative changes in them. This sun aches to be the silent mothering type, the invisible caretaker who rocks all the boats with comfort and emotional mixed drinks aplenty. And Uranus in Gemini requires you to put in a lot more effort to make yourself secure in your relationships by challenging you to your very core. To make sure you stand up for what you think is right even when it is difficult to do so and set clear boundaries so that you may give without feeling plagued by a defeated sacrifice. The challenge of this sign is to be both an empath and a fighter; your true strength is when you utilize empathy to fight. Its greatest beast: transform your hot bed of emotional despair into a consistent and reliable source of perfect good. You are the kind of quiet leader who acts as a wonderful equalizing lobby in any social circle. You must use your magnetism and emotional intellect to travel through the minefields of your partner’s feelings while also dictating the terms of a just battle. The incredible testament to your developing one’s capacity to break oneself through to another person.

Neptune in Virgo

A Cancer Sun adds emotional depth, intuition, and a nurturing side. Cancers are very attached to home, family and emotional security and they are commonly motivated by their heart and concern for others. With Neptune next to it in Virgo, this sensitive energy becomes even more subtle and can have an idealism and a desire to serve practically. With Neptune in Virgo, they encourage nitpicking, analysis and the desire to be practical about dreams or what moves you emotionally on a daily level.
Add to this one who is emotionally intelligent and sensitive to subtle energies and patterns. Instinctual empathy that is more Cancer, paired with visionary spiritual gifts of Neptune’s sensitivity and then examined through the lens of Virgo’s service-oriented heart. Such types often work with other people, or design spaces and structures, or streamline processes — doing it in ways that are both attentive and inventive. There could be a profound draw toward healing — emotional, physical or spiritual — where nurturing and scrupulous detail are paired.
On a personal level, Sun in Cancer and Neptune in Virgo can use their intuition out of practicality and manifest compassion into something they can physically act upon. Their artistic expression can be in caring professions, creative projects and/or the daily activities that surround comfort and beauty of life. Theirs is a struggle to find the balance between emotional sensitivity and practical expectancy, of learning when to trust their intuition and when footedness must take precedence. When integrated, these two create the sensitive, thoughtful and profoundly devoted being who can act to manifest heartfelt visions into meaningful forms.

Pluto in Aquarius

With the Cancer Sun, one has an emotionally deep, intuitive, and nurturing side; a Cancer is loving, empathetic, and always wants to protect and stay close to their home and family. Pluto in Aquarius, on the other hand, makes that energy sensitive more transformative and innovative: bringing forward what needs to change. Pluto in Aquarius insists on the transformation of our emotional patterns or social idea; one must think outside the box while contributing to the evolution of humanity. This makes those with the Archetype under consideration compassionate as they are visionaries with a true mean for change most of them regard to changing the collective. A Cancer Sun with Pluto in Aquarius, thus, may feel naturally drawn to anything which unites nurturing care with innovative difference-making, such as fighting for human rights, becoming a therapist, an artist, a community group leader, etc. On a deeper level, one with the above combination may marshal through life being sensitive but always having futuristic hearts in that a Cancer Sun seeks security, while Pluto desires to lead one towards a radical or progressive love; they must strike a balance. Overall, a compassionate, intuitive, and transformative person is achieved.
