Sidney Lumet Bio
Sidney Arthur Lumet (/luːˈmɛt/ loo-MET; June 25, 1924 – April 9, 2011) was an American director, producer and screenwriter with over 50 films to his credit. He was nominated for the Academy Award as Best Director for 12 Angry Men (1957), Dog Day Afternoon (1975), Network (1976) and The Verdict (1982). He did not win an individual Academy Award, but he did receive an Academy Honorary Award and 14 of his films were nominated for various Oscars, such as Network, which was nominated for ten, winning four. The Encyclopedia of Hollywood states that Lumet was one of the most prolific filmmakers of the modern era, having directed more than one movie a year on average since his directorial debut in 1957. He was noted by Turner Classic Movies for his "strong direction of actors," "vigorous storytelling" and the "social realism" in his best work. Film critic Roger Ebert described him as having been "one of the finest craftsmen and warmest humanitarians among all film directors." Lumet was also known as an "actor's director," having worked with the best of them during his career, probably more than "any other director." Sean Connery, who acted in five of his films, considered him one of his favorite directors, and a director who had that "vision thing." A member of the maiden cohort of New York's Actors Studio, Lumet began his directorial career in Off-Broadway productions, then became a highly efficient TV director. His first movie was typical of his best work: a well-acted, tightly written, deeply considered "problem picture," 12 Angry Men (1957). From that point on Lumet divided his energies among other idealistic problem pictures along with literate adaptations of plays and novels, big stylish pictures, New York-based black comedies, and realistic crime dramas, including Serpico and Prince of the City. As a result of directing 12 Angry Men, he was also responsible for leading the first wave of directors who made a successful transition from TV to movies. In 2005, Lumet received an Academy Award for Lifetime Achievement for his "brilliant services to screenwriters, performers, and the art of the motion picture." Two years later, he concluded his career with the acclaimed drama Before the Devil Knows You're Dead (2007). A few months after Lumet's death in April 2011, a retrospective celebration of his work was held at New York's Lincoln Center with the appearance of numerous speakers and film stars. In 2015, Nancy Buirski directed By Sidney Lumet, a documentary about Lumet's career.

Moon in Aries
Sun in Cancer
Asc in Pisces
Sun in Cancer
All of their greatest attributes, including their feelings, talents, creative abilities, are brought out by the Sun while it is in the sign of Cancer. Respecting their inner world, recognizing and satisfying their needs, and expressing themself are all crucial things to do at this time. They have the ability to transform their sensitivity into a strength rather than a weakness, and they are moreover more in tune with what it is that they want. In addition, throughout this period, their innate empathy and intuition are at their peak, which will assist in making intelligent choices and managing their relationships. When the Sun is in Cancer, it is simpler to be truthful and free of innovative ideas. Through writing, painting, or even just by doing pleasant things for other people, they have the ability to communicate their emotions in a manner that is significant to both them and the people around. Taking care of themself and giving some thought to how they are feeling can be beneficial in maintaining a state of equilibrium; nevertheless, they should be mindful of mood swings and the possibility of being too sensitive.
Moon in Aries
They are a potent mix of fiery impulse and emotional sensitivity when their moon is in Aries and their sun is in Cancer. This combination gives a formidable combo. It is because of this combination that they are a dynamic individual. It is essential to their identity as a Cancer that they safeguard, cultivate, and expand the ties they have with the people who are important to them. On the other hand, the energy that controls their emotional inner world (the Moon in Aries) could be quite different from how they appear to other people. This energy is robust, forthright, and independent of any external influences. There is a possibility that the combination will cause them to feel as though they are always being pulled and tugged. Their Cancer sun wants to withdraw inside itself and feel comfortable, whilst their Aries moon wants to hurry forward and battle for what it wants. Both of these desires are opposing emotions. In spite of the fact that they give off the impression of being calm and tranquil, they actually possess a startling temper and a great deal of inner energy, which the majority of people do not anticipate. As a consequence of this, they can be quite protective of the people they care about and take prompt action to ensure that they are safe. The combination of fire and water, on the other hand, may cause them to experience feelings of emotional instability. They could have significant shifts in mood, and the fact that they are a caring person might not always correspond to the intense emotional responses they have. In spite of the fact that their Cancer sun would rather steer clear of battle altogether, their Aries moon can motivate them to engage in combat. On the other hand, this might be an indication that they have trouble establishing effective limits for their emotions.
Mercury in Gemini
When the sensitive, nurturing Cancer sun is in the quick-thinking, curious energy of Mercury in Gemini you are someone with a deep emotional core who has an unexpected intellectual and communicative way about them. Your exterior is warm-hearted and gentle, but inside there can be more spontaneous misunderstandings; your thought process inside may be rather labile. It's a dynamic that makes for some very lovely – and very useful – synergy. Your Cancer sun craves the warmth of the familiar and deep emotional connection with others. Yet your Mercury in Gemini drags you closer to a planet of logic and ideas, driven to seek a more communicative truth. This means you’re not only able to create a secure life for yourself, but express from a more intentional and soulful place. You can be a profoundly empathetic companion in one moment and a storm front of intellect in the next. The true power of this combination will be for you to use your heart and mind combined. Your Cancer's emotional nature finds purpose in the vision of your Gemini mind. You are not only a caregiver, but you are also an agent for good, someone who can use speech to light a spark and change things forever. Mars' undiscriminating energy is channelled by the Gemini's mental quickness into patient perseverance which means that you will be a champion for what is right and true.
Venus in Cancer
When the loving, nurturing Cancer sun matches its heart centric nature with emotions an intuitive Venus in Cancer, you become a pure being of nurturing compassion. Your external world and the outer you is the infinite cup of empathy, from which your inner universe of relationships reflects back that kind predominant, all engrossing and faithful love. This double-water placement turns you into possibly the most passionately fixated, action-taking person in the zodiac. You don’t just feel love; you are love. You have a take it or leave it approach when it comes to following the life plan you’ve created in your head, and God forbid anyone get in your way - you are loyal unto death and won’t back down from protecting what is yours. Your love isn’t for any one person, no it’s a love for all humanity and you are attracted to the magic and spirituality in every connection. But this enormous power is not without its challenges. Emotionally You may have a challenge for patience with your emotions, just because they could be 'a bit of overpowering kind' Edit: For me anyway. The world can be a lot, and it’s not surprising that you’d feel burned out if emotionally spent.
Mars in Pisces
As the soft, compassionate Cancer sun is driven by the imaginative and intuitive space of Mars in Pisces, your impulses are that balance between feeling emotionally secure and thinking about everything through a spiritual lens. You want more than anything to be comforted and loved in an all encompassing way, but the part of you that’s motivation is caught up in an all consuming need for creative expression and unity with others. It's a tension that makes for a beautiful and intriguing pull. Your Cancer sun wants to create a secure nest and rest on the familiar. But your Mars in Pisces draws you toward a world of caring endeavor, imaginative expression and unending pursuit of personal freedom. Thatie But it does mean you are able to feel the highs and lows of human connection – and share your energy, which is unconditional, so long as you can express it in a way that feels nurturing, safe an loyal. What makes this combination so good is that you can love with a soft heart and an intelligent mind. Your Cancer's emotional sensitivity acquires a deep sense of purpose and a humanitarian grip thanks to your Pisces drive. You are attracted to relationships that seem big and bright, built on shared spiritual values and a fierce commitment. The vitality of your energy depends on a climate of respect, discovery and healing.
Jupiter in Sagittarius
As the kind, nurturing Cancer sun expands for better luck in the free-range, optimistic world of Jupiter in Sagittarius, your organic quest for growth becomes a journey of emotional depth and endless adventure. Your outer self is longing for comfort and a profound, supportive connection at its core, yet your inner drives are intense in wanting truth, freedom and a grand adventure of expanding the horizons. This is a very intriguing and beautiful attention clash. Your Cancer sun would like to make a secure nest and find comfort in the familiar. But your Jupiter in Sagittarius draws you into a realm of deep passion, transformative ambitions and an unrelenting search for the absolute heart of things. You have to be able to not just feel that humanity but express your energy in a manner that is fussiest, most trustworthy and committed. When it comes to living in this combination, (Sun Sign and Moon), there’s real horsepower behind the engine if you can realize your prime motivation which is taking action on your instincts as well as orchestrating anything which needs to happen in a calm and productive manner. Your Sagittarius motivation gives a sense of mission to the more emotional nature of Cancer and keeps it practical. You’re attracted to relationships that seem large and optimistic, based on common spiritual beliefs and a steely loyalty. You feed off an environment of respect and never-ending curiosity.
Saturn in Libra
Imagine someone with their Cancer sun and a Saturn in Libra trying to practice as a public defender. Your most basic drives are to nurture and protect, to be a safe emotional home for others to love and feel loved in. But the great lesson of your life, brought to you by Saturn, is about seeking harmony, structure and justice in your relationships. On its own, this creates an interesting tug of war between your emotional defender and a desire to see justice done without favoritism. Your Cancer sun wants to be the shy caretaker, the person who comforts and nurtures, the one you share deep emotional connections with. But your Saturn in Libra teaches you that real security comes only through working to create relationships of equality. It makes you take a stand for what’s right — even if it feels uncomfortable; and to define strong boundaries so that you can pour into others without draining your bucket. The trick is learning to be a sensitive empath and also strong advocate for justice. This placement’s real magic comes from harnessing your depth to turn it into a tangible force for good. You can be a silent leader, someone whose voice resonates loudly to help peace in your social circles — and beyond. Your job is to exercise your remarkable emotional intelligence and create societies in which relationships are based on respect and fairness. You are uniquely suited to traverse complex emotional terrains with ease, and draw a line in the sand with conviction for things you know in your heart to be right.
Uranus in Pisces
A person with their Cancer sun and a Uranus in Pisces is essentially a homebody that has to become a visionary leader. Your instincts are to nurture and protect, to create a safe emotional haven where everyone feels loved and secure. But your life’s great lesson, delivered by Uranus, is to change that relationship into a more balanced, structured need-discipline that forces profound metamorphosis. The push-and-pull created by this combination is incredibly fascinating, pitting that sensitive, protective instinct against an equally profound desire for objective investigation. Your Cancer sun wants to be the caregiver, the giver of comfort and deep emotional connection. But you Uranus in Pisces is here to tell you that true is only possible when you actively seek out the hidden truths n your relationships. It compels you to stand up for what’s right, no matter how uncomfortable that may make you, to draw clear lines in the sand and maintain your identity and perspective amidst your connection to the world. The challenge here, then, is to become both an empathic, sensitive healer and a disciplined advocate for balance. The incredible power of this placement can only truly be realized by transforming your emotional depth into a visible, structural force for good. You can become an invisible voice, a prominent, booming leader in your social circles, extending its influence far and wide. You must use your immense symbiotic and analytic power to foster relationships and bonds between people and communities based entirely on respect and trust. You are the only person who can handle the complexities of the human psyche and come out on top.
Neptune in Leo
Someone with a Cancer sun and Neptune in Leo is an empathetic performer who’s gained leadership from revealing how they feel. Your identity is your desire to nurture and protect, making the whole world feel like home. This is reinforced by Neptune’s urge for a new and artistically-inspired reality, and a dramatic and supercharged sense of self. In this combination a dynamic is set up, where there’s a tug of war between your desire for comfort (emotional security) and the strong, subversive urge you feel to overturn everything in order to liberate yourself creatively. This position means you are not simply a nurturer; indeed, you rule in the spiritual realm. Your task is to make your most profound artistic and personal impulses feel alive and urgent for a new generation. The trick will be to integrate your sensitivity with the necessity of articulating some complex concepts. The lesson of your life is to trust what arises from your unconscious, even when it’s scattered or resistant to the change your own dream requires. Your power is you can concentrate your relentless agility into something beautiful and beyond that challenge. Your journey to a meaningful life is predicated on learning to be a courageous artist rather than a compassionate one. Not your brilliant intellect, but what you had made as an inspiring reality. When you trust in your vision, your genius won’t just glow—it will become a lighthouse that draws others into their own creative path.
Pluto in Cancer
Pluto in Cancer is positioned right in your 1st house, Cancer — or self, identity and how the world sees you. This is one of the most powerful and transformative placements there is. You are not going to be the same person at the end of it that you are when you begin. Think of it as a complete reinvention of who you are. It can feel like life is peeling back layers of who you thought you were. Previous roles, habits and former versions of yourself that are no longer serving you will be questioned or dismantled. This can be disarming, even scary, because Pluto is in the business of raw truth. But it also bestows upon you a presence that cannot be denied — you become magnetic, drawing attention just by being who you are. You may tinker with your looks, your voice or the way you walk — but these are surface changes that suggest something far deeper at work. You’re learning to reclaim your power without apologies, release the safety of the familiar and face the un-pretty truth about who you are evolving into. As Pluto travels into Cancer, you will have become transformed to a point of irresistible strength and magnetism. You’ll not only be different — you’ll have more of you than ever before, an identity shaped by depth, honesty and resilience.

Sun in Cancer 3°51’
Cancer is ruled by the Moon, which gives people born under this sign great emotional sensitivity. They are thus often reserved and shy. Their reasoning, thinking and behaviour are very dependent on their mood, and this is the reason why they like to depend on people with strong personalities and choose partners they can lean on.
These people love their home, their parents and their family, but their romantic dreams and mood swings are responsible for the fact that despite their inner shyness they cannot remain faithful to their beloved partner. It is not their fault and they do not try to be mean; it's their character that is influenced by the Moon that causes emotional ambivalence, which is reflected in their relationships. They are the ones who suffer the most by it and they like to enrich their soul with new and new suffering.
People born under the sign of Cancer are often very artistic, and many of them know how to communicate their rich emotional cues with a brush, by word or through singing. Even though they are believed to be easily influenced by others, they actually influence their surroundings and they enrich other with their charming emotional personality.
When their characteristics are considered, they might seem to be impractical in life, but the reality is that when it comes to money matters and living standards, they know how to secure them, and their behaviour displays a sense for reality. They can get their way and ensure comfortable life for themselves and for their family, because pleasant, cosy home and family welfare are very important for their sensitive mind and restlessness.
They are peaceful and shy, but they are also very intelligent and smart so they can increase the value of accumulated experiences. This implies that if they ever find out that their timidity arouses sympathy and willingness to comply with their wishes, they know how to imitate this personal characteristic because acting is also one of their artistic talents.
Rather than of anger, their repertoire consists of lamentation and regret; and rather than aggression they will show agreeable helplessness. In their essence they are introverts who do not like to attract the attention of others, but this is what makes them even more fascinating.
